Regressia

Walkthrough: Act 4

Plague Revisited

Now that you have your uncursed equipment, sail back to the Tower of Plague and climb all the way back down to the bottom. Here you will find Mukunda, The Inquisitor. [Come on, don't you want to Skip to the Next Section? You don't really want to ruin the fun of this battle, do you?] Freeze him first, to lower his speed; he'll then retaliate by making you weak to Cold. Fast won't work here, as he'll Null it as soon as he can. Use that to your advantage: Cast Freeze, then Fire, then Wind. now that he has retaliated by making you weak to all those, use fast; he will now nullify all status effects, including weak. When his health is critical, he will begin to heal, and he heals very quickly and very effectively! Hit him with something big, like Duel, or a Grenade.

Pirates' Revenge

Leave the Tower of Plague and travel north. If you stop at the Ancient Castle, you will now be able to explore the third floor, where you will find a tome. Take this to Erastus and he will teach you Guard, a spell which will be very helpful in the next tower. While in Willognook, talk with Chanji again in order to hear more of the story. Next, sail over to the Pirate Cove, restock on supplies (and grenades), and upgrade your ship if it needs it.

When you're ready, sail to the northwest corner of the map, where you'll find a small island. The captain will you about the island and ask if you want to turn back. Say "No"; this will initiate a naval battle against the Lusca. Use Ram whenever possible to get through this battle. Next you'll have to fight some Tentacles. Use Fast, Freeze, and Guard at the start of battle, and you should do fine. The tentacle has cold based damage, so make sure to use your Element shield here.

Tower of Death

In this tower, you will encounter Decayer moths (use fire), Conqueror worms (use regular attacks), Imprints (upgraded monks), and Blue Drakes. Run from the blue drakes until you can fight the others comfortably. On the east side of the first floor, at 3 O'clock if the tower area were a clock face, you'll find a chest containing the Breaker. At 10 O'clock, you'll find the stairs going up to the second floor. This floor has a chest containing a tome; bring it to Erastus and he will teach you Restore, an upgraded healing spell. You may need this before you can defeat the Ouroboros guarding the chest on the next floor.

The Ouroboros will fight in a cycle. First it will do normal attack while its image becomes darker. When its image finally disappears it will release a very powerful Shockwave, and will be invulnerable until it reappears next turn. Use your turn to heal. When it reappears, it will heal itself completely. Use a powerful attack now, like a Grenade; the enemy is resistant to magic, so don't use Wind. Next, it will nullify all status effects. Now is the time to use Fast, Freeze, and Guard. Once you have those in place, keep hitting it with Pierce. You will be rewarded with the Cursed Armor. Take this to brother John in Larestra to have it uncursed, and turned into the Aura Armor; you will need this for the next fight.

Go to the fourth floor, but stop on the stairs. Now prepare for the boss fight. I suggest the Mage sword (duel is very effective against this boss), either the Element or Breaker in your other hand, the Aura armor (this is a must), and the Necklace (which protects your aura). The necklace is only a suggestion; experiment with whatever charm you like best. There is no trick strategy to this fight - just bring a lot of Cordials and Ambrosia. Keep your health full, as this enemy can do even more damage than the Ouroboros' shockwave, and use Duel whenever possible.

Ancient Castle

Stop by Willognook to restock, then head south to the Ancient Castle. This time we're going all the way up. You will now be able to access the fourth floor, where you will encounter Red Drakes, Phantoms, Knightmares, and Hippogriff. There is a chest on this floor with an old tome in it. Read the tome, and you will learn Quake. Now take the stairs to the fifth floor, and prepare to fight another boss. The Sages represent two different people, so be prepared to get only one turn for every two of theirs, or even less. The same basic strategy you used for the Tower of Death boss should work here: Duel and items. The sages can heal very quickly, but have a small amount of health, so lay on the damage as quickly as possible.

Step on the glowing square at the center of the room, this will take you to the Orb. Use the well to save your progress. If you step back into the center of the grove, you will be transported back to the fifth floor of the Ancient Castle, where you can explore and find an optional boss battle.

Confront Lorcan

Exit the grove and travel north. This area is filled with strong enemies that give out substantial experience rewards. Train here or in the Ancient Castle until you are at least level 30, then continue to the final castle. Here you will encounter Ersatzselene and Selene, whom you cannot run way from. Hit them with your strongest attacks, and always use Cleanse after they use Weak. Always. They get weaker with each turn, so endure their attacks until you can launch your own.

For the first part of the battle with Lorcan, you will need to use Guard as soon as possible, followed by Fast and Freeze. After that, keep up your health and use Duel. The second part of the battle is much like the first, only you need to ensure that both your health and aura are near max at all times, and the enemy will use Null every eleven turns. Duel is useful here, but I suggest equipping the Spirit Hammer instead, as you can restore your aura with every attack. This is your last battle, so use every Cordial and Ambrosia you've got. Good Luck!
