Regressia

Walkthrough: Act 2

Mountain Temple

The path to the mountain temple starts at what looks like a cave West by Southwest of Eastarbor. The enemies here are Gnolls and Eagles, and pose no particular threat. Travel north until you exit the mountain pass, and enter the Mountain Temple. This area is free of random encounters, so feel free to explore. Pay particular attention to the journal entry mentioning the distillery. When you are ready, take the stairs down into the dry storage area. There are several rooms here with items, and there are also very weak random encounters. The room in the northwest leads to a cave, and eventually an underground temple.

The enemies in this area are tough and use a lot of magic. If you are having difficulty, then you should train on the gnolls and eagles in the mountains until you are level 13. Search the area carefully, and you will find 500 gold coins, an Iron Axe, the Terra Armor, and several restorative items. Continue onward and down several stairs. Eventually you will meet with a monk named Chanji who will cast a spell on you to protect you from Pulse magic. Go north from her, and you will find the Guru.

The Guru fights just like a monk, only stronger. Keep your health up through this fight, because you'll be fighting another boss immediately afterward. The Titan puts on a good show, but isn't terribly tough. He does have a couple spells that can catch you off guard, so keep your health up; this is a good time to use Balms and Mead, if you have them. After the boss is killed Chanji will go to Railoah - you should go there, too.

Railoah

How to get to Railoah from the Mountain Temple: Head south through the mountain pass until you exit the mountains near Eastarbor. Purchase a ticket in Eastarbor, and talk to the man at the harbor. He will set sail with you across the sea to Alderdale. From Alderdale, take the underground passage to Willognook. Save your progress in Willognook so you don't have to do this again. Travel east from Willognook until you get to Railoah. You have arrived at your destination.

Chanji will meet you at the entrance, and teach you two new spells: Open and Freeze. Railoah is full of powerful mages who will use Pulse magic against you. Just run east if you want to get out without fighting many of them. If you take your time to explore you will be rewarded with 600 gold coins and several restorative items. These treasures disappear as soon as you exit Railoah, so either get them now or be content to leave them behind.

Lorcan's Castle

Head east and you will see a Lorcan's Castle. On the first floor you will encounter Assassins and Warlocks; in the dungeon you will encounter Bharoque and Chiropterans. Be sure to go south when the path forks in the dungeon, as this will lead you to a chest containing the Main Gauche.

When you finally exit the dungeon you will find yourself in an area with several small rooms and what looks to be a bar. There are several restorative items in the posts and chests in this area. When you are done, exit via the stairs to the north. This will take you back to the first floor. After walking several steps you will see a hall going north. Be careful here! Notice the statue: this is where you came from, you probably don't want to go back there. Take the door to the east instead. When you exit this door don't take the path, as it leads to a dead end. Walk along the grass instead. Next you will see a locked door. Open this door to reveal Lorcan's private study. Inside you will find an Ash Staff and the Talaria. Exit this room and continue west. You will find a throne room, with Wilhelm inside.

Wilhelm's speed can be overcome by equipping the Talaria, and by using Freeze on him at the start of the battle. Do not cast Fire! You should also equip a weapon you don't want, such as the Iron Hammer, as he will destroy your weapon toward the start of the battle. Once he has destroyed your weapon, just use the item command to equip another.

The Sealed Titans

Exit Lorcan's Castle, and go south to the entrance in the mountains. This area is filled with Goblin Chiefs, Phages, Specters, and Golems. These are level 16 to level 18 monsters, so be sure to train outside until you're ready. Simply follow the path until you encounter Lorcan, the evil Wizard himself. I suggest equipping the Signet ring for the health boost, and the Ash staff for the intelligence boost. Freeze him at the start of the battle, and then keep hitting him with Fire. Keep your health well above halfway, as his magic is very powerful.

Tower of Conquest

After you fight Lorcan you will find yourself in the nomad town. Talk to the man near you in order to save. Talk to everyone, especially Wilhelm, who will teach you the sword technique Pierce. Explore the north of town and you will find the Medal. If you leave town and travel east and north, then eventually you will find yourself at the Tower of Conquest. Inside the tower you will encounter Aquila, Beastmen, Ogres, and Green Drakes. Beware the Ogres as they can hit hard, but are weak to physical attacks. Run from the Drakes until you can defeat the other enemies with ease. In the south west of the first floor of the tower you will find a chest containing an ancient tome. Bring this back to Erastus in Willognook to learn the spell Fast. You can reach Willognook by travelling west. While you're there, be sure to pick up a Steel Sword and some Mead.

Continue to clean out the treasures on the first floor, but leave the chest with the statue in front of it for later; Guarding the chest is the powerful Griffin, and the Cursed Shield inside is of no use to you right now. Once you can comfortably fight drakes, it is time to continue up the tower to the fourth floor where Lugh is waiting. The very first thing you should do is cast Fast, followed by Freeze; in fact, this is the best strategy for almost any enemy. Shortly after that, Lugh will use the Fatal Strike skill, reducing your hp to 1. Use a strong healing item, like a Salve or Mead. After that, continue to use Pierce if you have a sword equipped, or Fire if you have a staff equipped.
