Hey, well i came across byond in a search engine and decided to give programming a try. i am looking forward to programming as soon as i get the hang of it and learn the ropes :p i am still learning the basics of programming but hopefully will start a small game soon. i am looking forward to being a part of this community :)

What I did was I started a tutorial before I went to the manual, then the manual is MUCH less confusing :)

Thx for the advice... i ended up making a demo. it's a bomb demo and turned out pretty good. i hope to make more and start a game soon (maybe :P)

yeah its good for a start.
can i give you one tip, i dunno if you made this demo all by your self (it doesn't matter) look out that you don't start coppying whole codes. Best way is to look at it and try to write it on your own. Then try to get rid of the bug yourself. When you can't do that just look at the code for help and after completing the code you "must" try to build it some bigger or try to use it in a other way. This is (in my opinion) the best way to learn coding. And if you need help, just post it on the forum. Here at byond there are a lot of ppl who will help you out. I too would like to welcome you, and warn you to keep a clean mouth and read the rules for the forums, you sound nice, but BYOND has had a ever encreasing number of rude people on the forums that have to be baned for stupid stuff, so check out the forum rules and try to not break any copyright laws while your here. It just "taint" proper. Anywho, welcome.

a little tip is that if you go ahead and add the http:// to web adddresses, byonds forums will auto make a link. So we dont have to type it for copy and paist it.

Well, what he made was not the difficult, but it is a little above what i think he has had time to make. I doubt that he did that all by himself.

He copied and pasted pieces of the code, and other pieces he simply copied in his own way and put them in different procs.

It appears to be Sariat's explosion demo, with a couple minor changes. He changed a couple procs around.

Yeah to answer a few of the things that u guys have been talking about... such as "it's a little bit better than i would have expected... might have some coding experience" Well to answer that i am used to coding from making websites and i have learned good ways to learn coding and spent the first night just looking over different demos and tutorials and other helpful sources. But yes the demo was done on my own. The other matter is "it is just like sariat's explosion demo" which i can understand but i didn't mean it to be... i didn't even know of sariat's demo till sariat accused me of copying it. This accusation and mine and others opinions on this subject can be found under "Creations", under the topic of "New Demo!!"
