The History Of DWL:
A long time ago, in a galaxy relatively close to ours (in fact it is ours), there was a Doctor Who game for BYOND being created, it was called Doctor Who Online and was created by a fellow named Wexrex. He wanted to make "Stargate Online only with Doctor Who races and technology". He recruited a couple people to help him (Lyndon, Master, and Reeve). After getting these people he ceased activity and simply left them to work on their own with no instructions or contact for over a week. Reeve stepped up to the plate and took charge of things while Wexrex was away and the game actually began to progress. Shortly after this, Wex came back and found himself still welcomed to the team but having Reeve in charge was voted upon and everyone (except Wexrex) supported the change in leadership. The game continued to progress but Wexrex still walked around like he ran the place and did absolutely zero work, despite promising to make icons which never came. He was then voted off the development team after having 2 chances. Shortly before, Reeve received an email from a website called 'Doctor Who Online' who politely asked if the team would not use their name for the game. Reeve complied, wishing to respect copyright and created a new hub for the game's new title, 'Doctor Who Legends' despite Wexrex's protests since he believed he could call the game whatever he wanted and didn't understand quite how copyright applied to the situation. After the name change and Wex's leaving, Wexrex went back to his old DWO hub and changed the name to 'Doctor Who Universe' and took Lyndon with him to continue with his Doctor Who game without Master or Reeve. Over the time Reeve was in charge of DWO/DWL he hired several iconers who provided many icons for the game. When Lyndon and Wex left they took with them some of these icons and included them in DWU. Thus, is the story of DWO/DWL & DWU and why we are not a rip, and they are, despite what it may say on their hub.
