You can also be a member of team rocket, galactic, plasma, etc. If you are the flying gym leader you must have all flying types. Team leaders or Admins can invite you to teams. The champion chooses the elite 4. A GM, like me, can make gym leaders.(No begging, thank you very much.)You must trade at pokemon center. You can battle anywhere though. You gain 1 pvp point for beating a trainer. you get 3 pvp points for beating a team grunt. You get 5 pvp points for beating a team admin. You get 10 pvp points for beating a gym leader. You get 25 pvp points for beating a team leader or elite 4. You get 50 pvp points for beating the champion and becoming the new champion. Pvp points are for getting pokemon. Yen is for getting items or TM's. You can choose bulbasaur, charmander, squirtle, chickorita, cynaquil, tododile, treeko, torchic, mudkip, turtwig, chimchar, piplup, snivey, tepig, oshuat, pikachu, machop, a masterball, or a pidove as your starter. Each team has a legendary pokemon(s) they go for. Team Rocket= Mew, Mewtwo
Team Aqua= Kyogre
Team Magma= Groundon
Team Galactic= Palkia, Dialga
Team Plasma=Zekrom, Heshrom
If you are in a team, you automatically get their icon. The only exception is Team Plasma for right now. The icons are Ash, Silver, Brendan, and Lucas for guys and May and Dawn for girls.
