The Warriors

It has been 10 months since the Riff leader, Cyrus, was shot by the Rogue member Luther. The Warriors successfully made it back to Coney Island and regrouped with the rest of their crew. The Rogues still have negative feelings towards The Warriors and have been defending themselves from Riff attacks. The Bronx area has become even more violent than before as constant wars break out in the streets. The Warriors have made a new HQ in The Bronx to combat and wipe out The Rogues, while other gangs in the area such as The Baseball Furies try to gain new recruits to try and gain back their turf. The new leader of the Riffs, Masai, has issued an all out war between the Bronx gangs, and the victor will be able to take full control of the streets. The gangs have one major enemy to deal with besides their rivals, the police, who have become increasingly persistent about the capture and killing of gang members and leaders. Which gang will conquer the Bronx?

Well, I got a wild hair, and decide to redo some of the systems I had coded in. Equipping is now different, its as simple as double clicking the item you want to equip, and it shall be done. Talking to NPCs is also done by double clicking on them. I think these methods are much cleaner than using Talk/Equip/Unequip verbs.
Leveling up (the stat distribution) is now done by double clicking a button that will appear in your main stat window when you have stat points to spend. Added a HUD system, thanks to Nadrews demo showing me how. This change has enabled me to take out alot more of the verbs, cutting the current Commands tab down to attack, fire or throw (if holding a ranged-type weapon) and drop if you've got items period. And of course, Get, but.. >.> Yeah. Also started on a Help manual, accessable as well through the HUD.

Been doing alot of code altering, trying to make it as efficient as possible. Setup the equipment so if you try to equip something (For example, a weapon) and you have one equipped already, it will be unequipped automatically so the new one can be equipped accordingly. Time to string the existing code out for bugs, I think. Aside from waiting to get turfs and needing PC icons, the rest is coming together nicely.

Ranged weapons are coded in and should be complete for the most part. They will be rare, however. Fighting will be more based on melee than on gun-power. Really in need of turf icons, to put together the Bronx. Pretty sure I've got the NPCs programmed in, at least the core structure for them. Also took the time today to make what I have coded into the game so far text-mode friendly, so those who like to play games that way, may do so. Its not perfect, but it works.

Getting the mainframe put together, character saving works, log-in screen is in place and should be fully functional. All weapons are coded in, except for ranged ones. Just need to do cosmetic addition. Lots of testing to do.
