Why did you decide that announcing your new membership should be your first post? The forum isn't just for members.

Because I had completely overlooked that at some point non-members were granted posting privileges. I've been around since before Membership was a thing, and I remember when it was basically MySpace: BYOND Edition. So, I'm a bit hung up in the old ways.

The forum has always been public - it was blogs that had required a membership, and eventually even non-members were granted blogs, though those didn't show up on the Front Page.

At one point, forums were specific to hub entries, if I remember correctly. Either that or I've been really really bad at navigating the site in the past 9 years. Sorry for sounding like an idiot. x.x
