This is the source code to the RPG I am working on this very moment. It was compiled literally a minute ago.
It is not a finished game (it is however entirely playable), it is likely to be buggy and have errors.
The source code is more or less fully commented. All the engine is commented, and explained. Content is not commented however, but it does not need to be commented (why do I need to comment that the turf /turf/ground/grass is grass? or that /obj/items/sword is a sword?).
I wouldn't say this is an open source project, since there is no real way for people to contribute anything to it, and setting up such a system is a pain in the ass. But if you want to help or make contributions, feel free to.
However. Now comes the part about what you can and cannot do with it.
You can use that source code as a learning tool, you can use the systems in it an any part of the code as you want.
You cannot just click the compile button, make a hub and claim the game as your own. You also cannot use the hub I am using, and I have removed the hub password from this source just to make sure.
You also cannot legally use the majority of the graphics in the game, as they are taken directly from RPG Maker XP and you (nor I technically) have permission to use them.
By downloading the source code you agree to the above terms. If you break these terms then your permission to use the source code is revoked, and I will personally hunt you down, and murder you. Very slow and painfully.
You also need the following libraries to run the game, LummoxJR.DmiFontPlus, Deadron.Quest and Deadron.TextHandling.

Give it a hub.
|
Are there any exceptions for the 2nd rule?
I likes to click the compile and makes teh hub :D |
BYOND dosen't care about the RPG Maker suite or software, if they had a lot of games would have their hubs removed.

But if you want to help or make contributions, feel free to. I'll be more than willing to host the project in my own repository, since I don't really do much else with it nowadays. It'll find it's way up there sometime today, possibly in the next few minutes. edit: The svn link is this: svn://wow.gdiracing.com/byond/The Magic Man - RPG Game A visual representation as well as general browsing can be done through this link. |
Thanks, that will make things easier.
Now I just need to figure out how to use these SVN things. Also, I sent you an email asking for access to it. |

DivineTraveller wrote: Yeah, I just requested the server be hard-booted. We had some storms in the area, and I fear that it might've taken it down for a bit. I'm hoping it comes back up within the next few hours. If it comes down to it, I'll set up another repository on a different server, and migrate the data there. |
