Yes, I do think this world has too many rules (especially the English language :P) but that's not always a bad thing... not to mention that most do not affect us directly, for example, a law in Iceland will most likely not affect you if you live the Congo. |

Not at all, infact theres needs to be more. Theres so many loop holes in the legal world, if something isn't primely directed towards one business, they can do whatever they want. Also alot of people break laws, like seat belts and stuff.
For people who run red lights, heres my idea. Right as the light turns red, Metal spikes that are like 8 Feet high, Impale out of the ground. Anyone who is stopped on it would be shot straight through. Anyone who trys to drive through will be like trying to drive cheese through a grater. :D |

I think this world has too many rules that dont fit with reason.
Like, people have a goal, so they create rules to reach it. But most the time, the rules actually do not help get to the goal, or help at some, but not others. This causes people to create "It depends on the situation". In reality, this is incorrect. It means if [x] is sometimes good, then [x] isnt good, but something accompanying [x] at times is. So, I think we need more rules that are logically coherent to people's goals, and less that are fragmented and run contrary to human ideals. Since, from how I have observed the world and studied, human flourishment(Or happiness) seems to be a primary objective. Obviously, if we do not understand how the world works, we are literally unable to say what will effect what, to reach a particular goal. Its also possible for things "not" to be possible in an instance of time, going by that logic. My personal conclusion is that learning will provide the means to understand yourself, and others, so that you can accomplish this goal. Ironically, this is life-long. But it accomplishes one of two things: It defeats the scenario in which happiness is impossible for many(Because learning is intrinsic) and allows you to find out what kind of happiness is possible. Similar to how stoicism was based on wanting what was "natural" - Or can happen with accordance to natural laws. Hence, I believe rules should be something that allows human growth to rise at a maximum rate. Hence why lack of stealing, lieing, and killing tend to be great rules. Sadly, I think many people enforce rules without understanding a deeper meaning within them. Hence.. You get individuals who believe fighting injustice with injustice works. This obviously limits growth - Trying to change, not control, an individual is whats better. Too many un-needed rules, not enough productive ones. Edit: Jail, at a time, was used for rehabilitation. If they could not help the individual, they kept them in their, and waited. Our system now is correlated with deterrents. Sadly, this helps nobody, and indirectly teaches individuals not to get caught. Sometimes, you get bad scenarios where the fear of knowing you will get caught causes a higher incidence of crimes. |
This world doesn't have any rules. Certain people who think they own landmasses in this world create laws which are enforced by a group of people. You can choose if you want to follow these laws or not.

I think a stick in a hole would solve all of these world problems, like global warming maybe even aids.
