spiritual pressure?

Yeah, I was thinking about that for my game too, you could probably do it like rain...thats how it looked when Ulquiorra released his pressure while fighting Ichigo

you should also make the screen shake from where ever the pressure is. the higher the pressure the bigger the range of someone feeling it/ screen shaking
I remember one time ichigo fought renji and his pressure went through the roof making him faster and stronger(things actually moved slower through his eyes)but when renji failed ichigo was taken out by byakuya in a snap because ichigo was a fly compared to him at that time even with the boost.

Sorry haven't been a help lately... but yeah it's to plain actually in the anime it's more of a blurred gravitational effect that is really unable to be seen but must be shown some way... why not try a blur effect like you used on the flash step.

its ok, unless the thing is transitioning from small to heavy, not to found of the lines splitting up, but none the less it works

BLN used to have Reiatsu Pressure in it but they made it so when you took a step it killed any one that was 10% of your level. All i can say is they took it out for a reason.
You're probably better off just skipping on this or if you do add it just make it so it slows people who are alot weaker then yourself down and make it so it effects people who are low on HP to stop them from running towards the end of a battle.

I haven't read the comments below but, I think if you use less lines in the overlay thing and also add a small screen-shake with pixel-increments and not the generic full 32x32 increase/decrease for screen-shake.
