A wireless router is not connected to my computer so it was genuinely difficult for my wireless adapter for my Xbox 360 to pick up a signal. It was located underneath the television stand in the center of my living room. The problem was that the only signal that could be picked up was by the window on the left side of my living room, a few feet away from the television. My adapter wasn't helping at all without an extension cord (which I don't have) and he signal wasn't strong enough to enter the whole house, so I was in a bit of a dilemma.
My father is supposedly a "skilled" technician and took a look at the wire. He decided to "modify" it by cutting the end of it off and replacing it with an even longer cord (I found it ridiculous because instead of buying the extension cord to a $100 adapter he cut it and risked perminately damaging it).
After he was done I inserted the adapter into the back of my 360 only to see that the green light was continuously blinking. Was there maybe a short in the wire? I had no clue, but I came to the conclusion that it DIDN'T WORK. Also, the ethernet cord that comes in the package with the xbox isn't long enough to reach my computer.
Sad face.
