My mistake.....I haven't drawn people or anything in a while guess I'm getting rusty...

No, you're right, the body is pillow shaded except some parts of the abdomen. The head uses a light source while the body does not.

Also, everyone is right about the pecks being too close together as well as the abdomen being shoved up into the pecks.

Honestly Sers, I think your base needs a lot more contrast in colors. You have the black outline and then like three colors of orange. A lot of the time you can use color to give a better representation of depth than you would with an outline.

Photobucket

I did a really quick remake of what I'm trying to point out.

1. Drawing a light source can sometimes help you convey the light hitting the body.

2. The body was extremely large so I cut it down to about 5 heads tall.

3. Everything on the body was large. Pecks were huge, Abdomen was huge, and legs were a lot further from the crotch than they should have been comparatively to torso and up.

A lot of your definition of the muscles and everything else was lost with all of those oranges. You don't need extreme contrast in colors to define parts of the body. Sometimes a lot of contrast is unappealing to the eye. I kept it relatively simple in terms of color.

I tried getting closest to what you were looking for, I hope this helps.

(You can see where I stopped giving a fuck about the edit in the arms and legs lol)

you don't know what pillow shading is and its obvious...

http://th09.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2011/180/6/2/ anatomy_practice____by_moni158-d3kfwa9.png the anatomy practice i used as a reference says different when it comes to the abdomen being shoved into the pecks.

stop bumping topics.
Dat Pillow Shade:Photobucket

Also the reference you're using is an artist's rendition of anatomy, not the real thing.

Just helping out Sers because he wanted help.

you truly are retarded... that isn't pillow shading lmao wow.

"style and preference, also not everyone has 8packs o_O 6packs are better fit my style."

nuff said.
stop pillow shading, look at those abs, pillow shaded. lol

But seriously, help Sers or gtfo.
the abs are AA'd.... i helped Sers from what i've see from your edit... you didn't.

its obvious you've just started doing pixel art and lack the experience to point out flaws.

look at the link i posted that'll show you what pillow shading is.
Alright, all you did was post an over contrasting half-body without explaining anything you did. That's not helpful at all.

over contrasting lmao are we really talking about contrast with your contrast all over the place ? straight ramp jumps ?

also if i didn't explain anything i did why does my post have links showing human anatomy and how its preference/style over sticking to actual anatomy.
This is how you know you don't know what you're talking about. "Straight ramp jumps" What is this, Tony Hawk? Gtfo here. A straight ramp is a ramp without hue shifting, my shades have hue shifting in them, yours are too large.

It's pretty obvious you have a hard-on for me. I never once talked to you, so why do you have to try and get my attention?

@VixiV Yeah that's a really great tutorial that goes over a lot of pixel techniques, I used that to learn how to do pixel art :P

was you not talking about me and claiming i was pillow shading ? also you're XLR8ED the same guy that bumped a topic from a year ago... dead.

straight ramp jumps also... your contrast levels are so close together you dont see any change.
How about you get back on topic before you get in trouble again ;)

Contribute to the community or get out and get a job.
lmao get in trouble only a child would say something so stupid. im also not the one who got their topic deleted.
Who got their topic deleted?
I don't see how Southend's edit is pillow shaded at all. I would say he rendered the male anatomy rather nice. Also, in terms of contrast, his edit is far better than yours.

Just sayin'

Now before you jump the gun on this, I'm not choosing sides. Just stating facts.
i really appreciate the time u guys took to help me but this is an old post, iv posted the new update after i got the help from Skydian,

this is the new post
