I was going to make a post about something else, something about some pretty awesome gifts for the people of BYOND.
But due to a certain someone I wont mention, I'm not giving you people gifts! And I am going to make a negative post about something I hate and be generally hateful and negative.
What I hate is SUMMER, and whoever invented it.
There is nothing good, or positive about summer at all.
It is stupidly hot. Both inside and outside. This heat gives me horribly bad headaches, saps my will to do anything, and generally makes living uncomfortable.
I cannot do anything about this heat either. I live a few floors up in a building, and the hot air from the floors below rises to make it even hotter inside.
To make it worse, I cannot open the windows where I live to try and cool stuff down. Because I live at the OPTIMAL HIGH... For bees and wasps that is. The things seem attracted to open windows, and I live at just the height they tend to fly at.
About a month ago, I had a monstrous bee in my room. It must have been at least 3 inches big, and took a hell of a beating to kill.
I think I'd just rather stay in a hot room that risk another insect like that getting in.
And then there is KIDS. KIDS EVERYWHERE. No more school, so they are out and about on the streets, annoying everyone on the internet, coming around with family members and generally being like a bad rash.
Lets not forget noisy neighbors. I live in a pretty annoying place. Lots of rowdy and noisy people. They'll be outside from 9AM to 9PM, being noisy and annoying.
It also does not help that some of them bought their kids those little motorbikes. You know, the horribly annoying and noisy ones.
Seriously, little kids riding up and down the street on these noise makers for hours a day, every day for weeks if not months at a damn time. You don't understand how annoying this is unless you've experienced it yourself. It is like some form of torture.
So lets see... Summer is hot, bright, noisy, lots of insects and kids on the upside it is... Actually, there is no upside to all of this.
Summer just plain sucks.
I hate summer. A lot.

The upside is that without it, our ecology would collapse and we would all face an environmental disaster the likes of which have never been experienced. Although I guess this is a small price to pay in order for you to not have to deal with children being outside, having fun, and getting exercise.

i've never understood the kids argument. the only time you'll see kids during summer you wouldn't see otherwise are during what were the school hours- aren't those the same hours most people work a job? so how are you going to end up dealing with any more of them than normal?

Also, as for the bugs, most people these days use a fantastic invention known as the "screen door" in order to let outside air in without having to worry about them. And those really massive bees are actually Bumblebees, which are completely non-aggressive and do not pose a threat to you at all unless you physically grab one.

Haha.. The only thing I hate about summer is not having anything productive to do.
Its odd, I really do dislike having freetime. I enjoy keeping busy, thinking, etc. But the sun, swimming, etc. I <3 Summer. But god, Texas summers can suck. 100+ degrees, and our electricity went out last Wednesday. (Its back now) | |

I live practically next door to the fucking Grand Canyon. It's hot as hell over here with no functional AC. Sounds like you'll be enjoying your summer better than I will.
