I was making some icons for a game and tried my hand at a building...It came out well but I'm having problems getting rid of the white background from MS paint and as the image is too large to edit in the dream maker...there doesn't seem to be anything I can do..any advice?
Any program that allows for transparent background photshop etc.

or save in a format that allows transparent formats eg png or gif..
Thank you so much!! It worked!
Alternatively in DM's icon edit open the icon file goto the options bar up the top Edit > colors and click white and press delete but only do this if you have no other white in the piece. I recommend you maybe turn the background bright pink that way you can always use this method and it requires no extra saving or fiddling.
Weird...it worked the first time I did it but now it still has the paint background...I tried saving it in both png and gif but it still comes with that white effect..
Can I see this building?
I got it to work using Fisher's method, thanks for the help and here it is if you still wanna see it Vrocaan

It's a nice concept, although it kinda looks like you have multiple perspectives. The bottom clay-ish part looks 3/4(sort of) and the gray and above looks straight on. Also I notice you've created in layers and the merged them down, this isn't a problem but when you do make sure the layers are in the right place, the brown layer is above the blades for some reason.
Its not above the blade, its just that the colours are similar and blend in too well. I thought of using a dark outline to define the windmill more...not sure if it's a good idea but i'll see where it takes me. Thanks for the feedback!
No problem, I would actually recommend messing around with the saturation of the bottom of the mill and maybe straightening the curved edge of the brown bit out. You could of course just rotate the blades so they aren't on the bottom at all.
