Well I have found myself doing quite a variety of art recently and this is something I found myself drawing and then pixeling. It is definitely a work in progress(It's black and white atm) but I'm quite happy with the way it's turning out. I just want some C&C from some more experienced pixel artists as I have never attmepted anything this large and detailed before.

So yeah tell me what you think. :D
It's looking good i don't see any issues with you line art atm so keep it up cant wait to see how this turns out
Thanks, I was worried the muscles may be off a bit, I'm not very big on anatomy, but that's very encouraging. :D

Damn, you're getting good at this.

only error i see are the arms the muscle is to wide and the forearms aren't long or defined enough.

Okay Update. I added it's entire bottom half and dithered a little, just so I could get a better idea of what sort of textures I can stick in there and to see if any muscle definition needed moving around. I think I inadvertently fixed what Southend pointed out.

(Okay shaded the head a little)
the arms are a bit long but you might be taking that somewhere and I'm not seeing it

but looks rlly cool

I went with extra long arms as long arms give a simian look and I wanted it really obviously to be ape-like, also you can hopefully see he is hunched over so it makes his arms look longer than they are.

Okay, suggestions for what sort of shading I should use. I' leaning towards cell shading(sort of thing) but I'm really not sure.
The way you lengthened the arms as well as hunched him over almost appears like it's supposed to be a 3/4 perspective to me. Not sure if that's intentional.
Okay first off when you look at a large monkey or gorilla the arms come up more like up to the ears or like eye level to show that it's more hunched over. The way you are showing it right now makes it look like a guy with very long arms.
thought i do a edit (rlly just colored it)

Photobucket
I'm working on a colored version right now :) and I've moved the head down a few pixels.
Looks really good, the dithering is just amazing.
Okay colored version, this is definitely still a work in progress but so far I'm loving the feedback so bring it on.

Shortened the arms a little a bit as well

Edit:
Noticed the first colored version was a little bland so I made an increased contrast version:

I don't know if this is just me, but for some reason the gorillas ankles are bugging me. They just seem way too thin and fragile for the size of it.
Err it was kind of a perspective thing, the ankles are going backward(he is crouching), so I had the get smaller as they go down to show that.
Ah, ya I see it now. I think I just had a hard time seeing the effect of it bending under the knee, to show that it wasn't a direct view of it. Good job on it though!

One last thing, from what I have seen when a Gorilla leans on its arm/bends, its legs move out to the side a little bit. The way you have it somewhat makes it look like it is getting into a sprinting stance
Oh my, A sprinting giant gorillas isn't that a scary thought :P and yeah I see what you mean.

You need to define your light source better

but its looking good
