There's a little over 24 hours left before the Get Something Done challenge (GSD) is closed to new entrants. [Edit for clarity: this is not the challenge deadline. The challenge ends June 1st. This is the deadline to enter the challenge.] To be honest, I'm getting a little scared! There has been such a large amount of attention, and so many entrants, that administering and judging this challenge could turn out to be a major amount of work. Besides the number of emails I've received, I've also seen a lot of activity on the members pages in the form of dev logs and posted schedules. Here is a list of all entrants so far, along with links to their members page (possibly with a dev log) and their hub entry (if created):

I'm most likely to have an alpha out soon, but not with good graphics and may be quite buggy.

Heh, JP's going to maul us if he manages to release DMIDE in working order. The rest of are just creating games, but the DMIDE seeks to improve the very tool that's used to make them all.

Let's hope my game will be epic :P. I'm also planning to get as many or more people on it than SS13. Then i know it is Epic!

SS13 is also advertised outside of Byond, you might want to try that approach to realize your efforts. Not everyone likes the same type of genre of game.

It ends tomarrow night correct? I shall punch in my late entry (I just got done with finals)

Entry closes tomorrow. After that, the event continues until the end of the month.

IainPeregrine, can you add me to VcentG's list? We're both working on the same project. I'm creating the art.

Ah yes, and did you get my email as well? I sent you one saying Branks and I were working together before he even posted XD.

DMIDE isn't my entry - it's just something I'm working on (which could potentially benefit from what I'm working on). DMIDE is Crashed's baby - I've actually done very little work on it, consisting mostly of the syntax highlighting and code folding. The program I'm working on is called 'dreamcatcher' (Someone on Chatters suggested it - I can't remember who. Maybe Keeth? It was a good suggestion, anyway). Basically, it'll just be a DM parser. Assuming I can get my arse into gear and actually do something, anyway. :P EDIT: And DMIDE is already, in a sense, 'in working order'. One could certainly work on code with it, and it does offer some benefits over Dream Maker. Compiler integration is significantly more lacking (and, in fact, if you don't have a default BYOND install path, it won't find your compiler at all. You can toggle some hard-coded paths in the source, but that's sort of hacky), but the syntax highlighting is, IMO, just as good as DreamMaker's, if not exactly configurable (Once again, you can edit hard-coded values in the source, but not exactly user-friendly), and Dream Maker doesn't do code folding at all. |

Good to know I'm not going up against an entire IDE. That said, dreamcatcher does sound cool, I look forward to seeing more of it. |
