I had the unpleasant "pleasure" of seeing the new disgusting Nightmare On Elm Street. All I can say after watching this is that Wes Craven is probably mortified at this, and I had to re-watch all the old Freddy Krueger movies just to relive their glory moments that I grew up fearing.
Anyone else who saw this movie, I feel bad for you.

MovieBoB on The Escapist Magazine has a pretty good breakdown of exactly what went wrong. (Hint: Michael Bay.)

I think the original Nightmare on elm street is better, as old horror are truly the best. Take for example Stephen King's IT (if you haven't seen it). I think it plays on a pychological factor as well sight. It is a very unique style of horror. But making a remake of IT, it will lose its uniqity. I blame IT for my fear of clowns. |

And I agree on that as well. After I saw IT when I was young I named a dog I had Pennywise. Though the one movie series that as a young man scared the hell out of me was Nightmare On Elm Street. The only movie sequal(Besides Freddy VS. Jason) that I didn't care for was "Wes Craven's New Nightmare". |
