So, I was recently messing around with making an external hub, that's doable via images. It's not that great, but maybe someone would find use in it. Oh, and you can click the image to go to the first available game, too. It's neat like that.

Here's the BBCode version:

[url=http://linux2.gdiracing.com/~kkemp/redirect.php?url=devourerofsouls.mitadakehigh][img]http://linux2.gdiracing.com/~kkemp/image_gen.php?url=devourerofsouls.mitadakehigh[/img][/url]

Followed by the HTML version:

<a href="http://linux2.gdiracing.com/~kkemp/redirect.php?url=devourerofsouls.mitadakehigh"><img src="http://linux2.gdiracing.com/~kkemp/image_gen.php?url=devourerofsouls.mitadakehigh" /></a>

Here's an example:

Yes, I know, it's ugly. And my only attempt to merge images in with it failed. It wasn't meant to be a long-term project.

Also, this is best for games that only have one server, because it just pulls info down for the first available server. I'm sure there's a nice laundry list of things I can do to make it better. If anyone wants to leave suggestions, that'd be cool too.

Hope someone finds it useful!

[edit] A neat thing I just realized was possible - people could essentially have a hub on their members page, too. I think that'd be pretty neat <.<.
ss13 has done it.

Have a look.
Congratulations, would you like a cookie?

I'm distinctly aware of this. I'm pretty sure they don't let anyone use it though, which is what I was aiming to do.
I just get a blank screen when I click your image. Then again the BYOND hub doesn't work for me, but clicking a link from the hub does something different. So, I'm not sure if it's on my end or not.

It's most likely on your end. All it does is redirect you via header: byond://game.link

Your browser might not recognize the byond:// protocol, so that's why it wouldn't work.

[edit] Most browsers let you add protocols for them to recognize, so if you really wanted to, you could make it work.

It used to work, it suddenly stopped working though a couple months ago. I get a File not Found error with Firefox. I was told to reinstall BYOND. So, I did that, and reinstalled Firefox. Even did a registry wipe on them, but the problem refuses to solve itself.

Edit - Jesus thank you, I was curious about what you said about protocols, so I checked around in my Firefox options. Under the BYOND program it was being opened by the wrong directory, so I changed it to the right one and it works. This problem has lasted for a long time and been a pain in the ass. I'm still just getting a white screen when clicking your image though.

Never mind, I suddenly heard some weird music blasting through my speakers and saw it opened the project. It was quite confusing.

Yeah, that's not my project. It's Mitadake High by Devourer of Souls. It's a game I can nearly guarantee is up 24/7, so I figured why not use it as an example, and perhaps toss a bit of advertising (although not really that much..) his way.
