Nope, a hiatus does not matter in the least. It will get done when it gets done, not when you or anyone else wants it to be. It is what it is.

Very rarely do I have someone take something, I said, agree with me, and insult me all in one blow.
Hmm, I've levied more than my fair share of negative criticisms about the development pacing of this game. I don't really think its fair to say that Paul is doing anything to hype the game right now. The times where I took issue was back when the developers of DBO2 were telling everybody that this game was going to dominate BYOND and make every other game worthless in comparison. Since that isnt the narrative, and hasnt been for several years, I dont know where the strong critical emotions come from.

I will say again that having the main project manager not have any programming background is going to be a constant challenge for this game, it is hard to rally any programmers into the type work ethic required to make a game when the ideas and majority of the game's credit go to Paul.

All in all, I would encourage that you take some time to learn DM. I spent a little bit of time trying to balance my skills out by trying my luck at pixel art, and while I am not as good at it as people like yourself, I am able to resist bottle-necks in production time. If you did the same with the programming side you would have a lot more control over the project, and more realistically the programming staff could function more as support.

Improper execution of the English language there. I understand you want to sound smart, but "If. Otherwise." is a poor attempt to do so.

You embarrass yourself by writing a response that is tasteless, immature, and hypocritical.

That's how you do it! Although, it wasn't hypocritical or immature.

The proper criticism would be that it was condescending, arrogant and particularly anal-retentive.

Not that I'm taking sides on whatever is going on.

Haha, someone tried to sound smart and failed. I pointed out that they failed, and Toad was trying to show how to not fail.

Is "Improper execution of the English language there" a proper language construct? Even as a play on the alternate meanings of "execution" (which you're not clever enough to form), that sentence is awkward at best, and nonsensical at worst.

or immature

Do you consider disregarding a post's contents in favour of nitpicking someone's grammar mature?

And now we can all see the importance of researching what was said, rather than trying to nitpick at someones post.

If you go back to my original post, you'll see I didn't disregard what he posted. I did point out that if he was going to try to insult me, he should use better grammar. I then countered what he was saying.

I'm sorry, who was nitpicking?
Disturbed Puppy, What exactly are your complaints?

...None really. I had pointed out that you guys taking a hiatus wouldn't matter much since you're 4 or so years into the project anyways. Then shit was thrown.
You made a stupid grammar comment.

With all due respect, anybody could say the same things you said in your first post about your projects.

Disturbed Puppy,

I don't understand your point about nitpicking; you tell me I do it, but don't seem to understand what the word means.

You are obnoxiously ignorant of what you write:

"Improper execution of the English language there. I understand you want to sound smart, but "If. Otherwise." is a poor attempt to do so.
And yes, I've kept up. See how long they've been working on the game, and with a straight face tell me the team taking a 2 month break will matter."

The way your post is phrased, you clearly place nitpicking his grammar in first priority. Casually commenting on the other post's actual contents with an offhanded "And yes, ..." does not make your post somehow mature, or any more valid, nor does hypocritically "expecting better grammar" give you any credit.

By this point, I think you pissed off pretty much everyone here (that weren't laughing their asses off to how retarded you are). If you are trying to troll - congratulations, go somewhere else. If not, would you please stop embarrassing yourself?

WRONG! What projects?

Anyways, I wasn't insulting you guys(like I said before), I'm merely pointing out that taking a couple months off won't really matter.

Good luck on your finals by the way.

Seashells,

You have some errors in this post, so anyone criticizing anyone's grammatical content is in vain. I could point them out, but I'm not a grammar Nazi, and due to the effects of alcohol made several errors myself.

I'm not trolling here, I made a simple, coherent post, and I can see that the mighty horde of fans will not allow such a point to be made. That's great, it's good to see so many fans still dedicated to the game after all this time. I just wish you all would have read what I wrote. Ah well, that's life.
Called it.
Also, nay.

You called that we would be taking a short break from the game? Cool yash, congratulations.
He made this post to allow the DBO fans to know the current status of the game and to inform them on the progress. I honestly dont see why you people even bother to comment with such negativity for something so small.
people can be so cruel T.T
