The GUI is rough around the edges and the graphics are ugly. Most of the various build-able things have yet to be added. However, walls were one thing that could be built. So, lets say we have the following scenario:
  • A collection of six Colonist NPCs are milling around, all looking around for a job to do.
  • The player drops a bunch of walls for them to build.
  • Once built, each wall tile will be an obstruction.
  • Further complicating matters, the colonist NPCs themselves count as an obstruction and will prevent other colonist NPCs from entering that turf.
Can these colonist NPCs intelligently find these jobs and get them done?

My colonists have an answer for you.
(Yes, the graphics are ugly placeholder graphics.)
The heart of the "Dwarf Fortress-like" experience, the dynamically generated worlds and a batch of NPCs who automatically perform jobs that the player has placed in that world, is now enabled.

If I were operating by my "barely playable" meter from last week, I'd say I'm at about 85% now. Provided not too much complicated stuff happens this weekend, I should be able to take it at least another 10%.

Another thing I accomplished this week: learn to drive clutch.
If this is a BYOND project (and it does look like one), is it multiplayer?

Current plan is to make it both multiplayer and single player.
'Bob the Builder' fan game? :P
Hah, I was expecting a Barack Obama reference.
You could rename the "Colonists" to "Obama Volunteers"...

(ba-dum-bump-ching)
20 seconds late :(
Well, at least my expectations were met ;)
