Rage.

I'm all for them adding it, I just wouldn't use it.
But then again, they did this with Digg before and didnt go through with it for some reason. |

I definitely disagree with this, I see no reason to punish people for not wanting to interact with Facebook. Not to mention it creates extra work for the moderators where there doesn't need to be extra work. I agree with Nadrew on this one. |

Face it man, It's you vs the whole BYOND community. Such an action would hurt BYOND more than "Encourage it's growth" seeing as people would likely begin to protest by not purchasing / renewing a membership, Not advertising BYOND, and in a stretch, leave BYOND in it's entirety. Try this on for size. You have yet to provide a rational reason other than 1) not wanting to have any of your blog posts public, and 2) maliciously wanting reduced traffic on BYOND. Why would you even care if you are front page banned? You have zero regard for BYOND's business goals, and are overtly and purposefully engaging in behavior detrimental to those long term goals. If you decide to leave BYOND over a those reasons, you should never have purchased a membership in the first place. Besides, why does BYOND want members like you who maliciously wish its demise? |
On the bright side, people that hide the facebook thing are probably posting things not worth linking to on facebook anyways.
Edit: How'd BYOND manage to get site banned on Digg? |

Can someone give a rational argument to doing this? Honestly, it's sad that people are disabling it. I make a motion that if you see a users page that has it disabled, you copy the url and quote the originator to your post, which should have it enabled.
This would make their attempts to be hermits futile. I understand disabling Yea or Nay...but for someone else to share your posts with a larger community...this all makes no sense. I won't be disabling mine, and I encourage others to stop being so reclusive. |

You sir are trying to make sense of something that is senseless, stupid, and ignorant. If I was wishing byond's demise, I would have: 1. Not bought a membership. 2. Not be active. 3. Not be a developer. Seriously, People like you who try to get attention by coming up with stupid, pointless shit annoy the hell out of me. Maybe I: 1. Don't like Facebook? 2. Prefer to keep my blogs to the BYOND community in anyway I can? 3. Keep my internet and Real life seperate? Seriously, You're speaking out of ignorance. |
i just don't want it on my page really. consequently, i have nothing worth sharing with facebook, so quit getting your panties in a bunch. other than that, other reasons may just be aesthetics... the button looks trashy on some CSS designs. looks GREAT on the default that most members don't use. ;p

It scares me, seeing that most of the Anime players have facial hair.
Also, if I choose to disable the button, it'll be for aesthetics also. At least until I make a cool glass version. |

I'd spin that around, Zxcvdnm. Those who are disabling their links have their panties in a bunch because they wrongly assume they are entitled to what Bootyboy suggests removing. The idea is probably not worth the trouble of implementing, but there's nothing radical about it.
It's perfectly fine to have content that you don't think is worth sharing. I imagine the CSS option is there for a reason. So is the checkbox to prevent one's own content from being displayed on the front page. (Frell, why not suggest removing the CSS option and adding links to the checkbox, Bootyboy?) Just understand that the purpose of the front page is to advertise BYOND's activity to non-members. Members can subscribe to blogs and refer to their home pages. |
Not to mention that the Front Page is one of the prime features for getting new payed members.
Removing us would remove more of the advertisements. |
