Good morning/afternoon/evening! We, the DBK team have decided to hire a programmer, a pixel artist and an interface designer. So anybody willing to apply for the job, please post here. Cash paid after the job is done, is as follows Programming 50$ for 2 months of programming Pixel Art 80$ for 2 months Interface Designing 5$ for making an interface which is decent Other than this we will also be willing to pay 5$ to anybody who makes a decent css for this blog. The css should look like this --> http://i39.tinypic.com/4scmmb.png Color Scheme: #2a2a2b, #6A6A68 and #4B4B49

Developers should NOT be paid pennies!
I commented quite a bit on the above thread, but apparently it was deleted.
Programmers generally a month make about $7,000.
He's an idiot, pay him no mind.
yeah, programming a dbz game on byond is extremely hard complex, and requires at least 12 years of training, hence $7,000 a month

his post was stupid, but i think this one managed to be even stupider
$7,000? on BYOND they make around 0 dollars a month. DBK is just another failure game.
ignore what mean comments say

i am a superior dbz programmist and i make 12k$$$ a month

they dont know what their talking about
This goes to DBK Team:

Why is it you are willing to pay a small $50 for the core of a project, when pixel artists are paid $80.
You have your numbers wrong, just to tell you.
In the real world, graphics cost less than code. Especially when you can make a game with as little as 8-bit graphics and have the most ingeniously made systems and engine to produce a beautiful game. On the other hand amazingly beautiful graphics and a shotty, no-good engine, is shunned.
LoL
Professional programmers maybe, but BYOND programmers don't make nearly that much.
http://www.minecraft.net/

One guy makes it. Is an amateur, is using a language not much better than BYOND.
Has 11,183 people who bought the game at $13 each. Which is $145,379 in total.
Has been making it for maybe 8 months.
145,379/8 = $18,172 a month.

More than double $7,000 a month.

It is possible for an amateur programmer such as someone on BYOND to make more than $7,000 a month.
But I don't expect it to happen ever because the quality of BYOND games in in general very, very low (definitely not worth $13, maybe barely worth 13c).

Depends on what we are talking about "in the real world".
In commercial games, something like 40-50% of the entire budget goes on graphics. (Another 20-25% on publishing, and 10-20% on programming)

I cannot find the pie chart, but if you look on Google you'll probably find it in minutes.

Yu Yu Hakusho Online. It's not available to the public. Feel free to try it next week during open testing.
Sure will, I liked the anime. Be looking forward to it.
Enjoy its awesome pixel art, Tetsuya. It's mind blowing.

More than double $7,000 a month.

it's worth noting that due to paypal and sweden's high tax rate, he actually gets about 40% of that

what was the point of saying everything you just said? no one said it's impossible to earn that much as an amateur programmer; we (or just i?) said that you should not expect to be paid $7,000 a month for coding shinkais and jujitsus into a shitty byond game

That kind of sucks actually.
But he is still making a good amount of money.

Was just saying.

Wut?

He clearly said, more money is spent on programming that on graphics in "real life", and that if a pixel artist gets on average $80, then a programmer should get more.

I was simply correcting him.

It not only applied to commercial games.
I have in the past paid a hell of a lot of money for graphics, and nothing at all for programming.
You will find this true in most cases.
Graphics will cost you a hell of a lot more money that codes ever will.
programmers are a dime a dozen on BYOND. They're uneducated, and possibly a violation of child labor laws in most situations. 80 might be fair if its like a kid doing it.
