While creating a bug report, I wanted to attach a screenshot to clearly show a visual example of the problem. Since there is no built in support for it, I had to upload and link it on my own. It would be really handy if there was some way to attach a screenshot or a related file to a bug report.

Most forums protect themselves from people creating posts just host a file by requiring a user be logged in to view said file. This would be understandable in the context of a bug tracking system(kinda a pain in forums though), especially a bug tracking system that requires all users to have login names to be able to use the related software.
Makes sense - I have a whole section on my website just for BYOND bug screen shots =P
I agree it would be helpful to allow easy uploads, at least for users who are Members and have their own file space available.
That would work. It would prevent abuse because they are host hosting the file themselves, but wouldn't have to go wading through their members page to get it uploaded.

My only complaint about making it member only is that it could harm the quality of the report for non-members, which doesn't hurt them but rather BYOND. Of course, I have no idea the member/non-member ratio posting bug reports, so it may not be an issue at all.
Members tend to be a higher percentage of bug reporters, and they also tend to produce better-quality reports. I don't think it'll be an issue to add a convenience feature for Members while leaving non-Members in the same situation they're in now.
Would it really be horrible if they made it able to have a few images directly to bug-reports, and not members-only?

I don't use pictures that often on any forums or anything, even for bug reports, but in case I do, all the other forums and stuff allow me to do it, I just click the image icon, it allows me to click a file on my system, then it goes through, and has a per-report file-size limit on the max.

Of course there might be need to stop abuse, for example, people using bug reports as their file storing solution, at least for small files.

But really, anything can be used as anything else, so there is always need for admin and stuff to stop many types of abuse.

Probably not; the only issue is it presents a greater technical challenge.
