Thanks for commenting.
My other issue was about the files locking up right? Sorry, I figured out what that was. I was privately hosting it and forgot, which made the files lock up. Anyways, I know it is not a firewall issue because nothing has happened with my firewall recentely. I also tried many different versions of BYOND, and I tried uninstalling it. It still ended up doing this, which leads me to believe it MAY be my computer. The last thing that I did with BYOND before this happened was go to a game's Zip file(It went to another site) and it requested to use the "ByondStub" feature? I let it, and that is the last thing that heppened. I tried downloading multiple things, but the main one was Bleach: Sins of La Espada(I was THAT bored. I was gonna make a little spoof game, eh. xD) |
ByondStub is a browser plugin we have for determining if BYOND is installed on your computer or not, as a nice way for newbies to be informed if they need to download BYOND.

Hmmm...I just tried to download the Send File Demo by Unknown Ninja From Hell and it said the same thing.

I am having this same problem and I am using Firefox. Whenever I go to a hub and click the download link, or click to join a game I am brought to a Firefox could not find file page. This just started a couple days ago, though I uninstalled the BYOND plugin from my Firefox plugin almost a month or two ago.
I uninstalled and reinstalled BYOND, and restarted Firefox, but to no avail. I can however click the [zip] link and download worlds just fine. This is where it takes me on the browser. byond://BYOND.world.468680086##webid=ba5df5356ddd2ea71a02a75 39a755765564b4a15e9be9aa9 This is what is on the page. Firefox can't find the file at byond://BYOND.world.468680086##webid=ba5df5356ddd2ea71a02a75 39a755765564b4a15e9be9aa9. Also, I am using the latest stable version. |
That doesn't sound like the same issue. Firefox failing to recognize the byond:// links means that BYOND is not properly installed on the system. To fix that you'll need to uninstall BYOND and reinstall it.
|
Have you been able to reproduce the problem yet? If you can't, I am sorry. It is really annoying though.
|
As I mentioned, I'll need info on which specific hub entries you tried to download, and what messages (any relevant status and/or error messages) you received when doing so. I don't have enough information to reproduce this.
|
I dont get any other messages other than BYOND BUG: Failed to load data in InstallHubZipFile(). It also happened when trying to download The Unknown Ninja From Hell's Send File demo. (The only one, just put Send File in the top and search in resources.)
|
Links, please. List all the entries you tried, not just one, so I have data to work with.

Ok, here is a few:
http://www.byond.com/developer/TheUnknownNinjaFromHell/ SendFile http://www.byond.com/games/Tairee/BleachSinsofLaEspada http://www.byond.com/developer/Dantom/htmllib Those are the three I remember, I do not know if there are more or if I used more. Sorry. |
Please set this to Resolved. Apparentely it was my computer. After a restart, everything worked fine.(My scroll(Laptop) pad and tap-click functions were not working as well)
So something messed up my computer, but after a restart and Disk Cleanup everything was fine. Thank you. (By the way, I am Albro1. This is my alternate account. Forgot to log in as Albro1 first, sorry.) |
Because this happened right after you upgraded, I strongly suspect either a Vista access issue or a firewall issue is in play. In light of one of your previous issues which remains unresolved, it could be either.
If it's a Vista access issue, I'm afraid I don't know what to tell you about how to fix that; it basically means all your user data is stored in such a way that Vista is being persnickety about permissions. If you have the ability to change those (with Home I don't know), you can go to your user data directory by opening the pager and going into File | Preferences | Advanced.
If this is a firewall issue, you need to edit your firewall's configuration. (Keep in mind some people run multiple firewalls. Windows has a built-in firewall of its own.) Make sure byond.exe, dreamdaemon.exe, and dreamseeker.exe all have full access to both the Internet (WAN) and local network (LAN) using TCP. If there is a setting that asks if you want to use a hash or MD5 signature of the program, turn that setting off.
