Still doesn't explain what his game is. Apparently a samurai is his game. Now do you see my confusion?
A "Samuria" game is what he means, as in containing them.
Like Fighting Ninjas I Guess xD I'll See If I can Get Screenshots Soon so You Can See

Samurais aren't ninjas. Those are Shinobi.
lol well fighitng people then xD
We will be trying out. We started aug 4 but, forgot to post it here so here you go. Seems like fun and motivation to start on a game we wanted to do for a while. There is currently only 2 of us. :)
Well, I'm using pixel movement and maptext for the first time so that slowed me down, but I've just about got that down and seems I will be entering. If nothing else, this is already a good learning experience.

Once again, no promises on finishing, but I am hoping to present something pretty good.
That's exciting if more people are trying out pixel movement for this competition. Maybe some changes will come around here with more games having pixel movement. Bout time, as if BYOND didn't make it easy enough for us now.
I might enter late.. Not sure though. I have way too much art sitting around that could potentially be put to use. Hmm..
Well, I've seen where quite a few people have posted about their progress already, so I think I should too before people forget I'm enter. :)

I'm making a basic and simple (for now) top down space shooter where you travel through different stages and rack up points by shooting down enemies.

As of right now I have projectiles working great, the majority of the enemy AI complete, and some nice visuals to go along with it.

I'll be sure to post screenshots later this afternoon/evening, and perhaps a demo depending on what I accomplish. :)
I just skimmed through each reply and looked at each screenshot (and even two demos) again that were posted and I think they all look really great. If I had to choose a favorite, I think it'd be Oasis's, then followed by Albro's.
I finally decided on the premise for my game. It's going to be a single player action adventure quest. The plot is a young boy must defeat a monster that is invading his dreams by collecting 4 objects to enter this space in his own mind and defeat the monster there.

Along the way you fight various enemies, some of which have specific ways of dealing with them, as well as solve puzzles and explore to uncover new powers with your character.

Now if I can make the reality match up with my brainstorming.

Working on art now. Btw does anyone know how to canvas an image on Graphics gale?
Ran into some issues with isometrics having me to redo all the tiles we had, small setback but we're back on track :)
Hmm seems I'll be a little behind but What the hell I'll participate.
Fun with projectiles.
