Like the title says, crystals that are bound to an obelisk only work when they are directly in your inventory. If you have them in a bag that is in your inventory you will respawn at the respawn point instead of the obelisk.
Not sure if that is an actual bug or on purpose, but it sure is kind of an inconvenience.

Well yes, but isn't a bag (or sack or whatever) technically part of your inventory? It doesn't make that much sense that it wouldn't work inside a bag.
But if you don't like that, how about making it necessary to have it equipped for it to work instead? Like in the misc item slot or something? | |
What Kaio means is that the trade off is that you are allowed to respawn wherever you want, but the consequence is that you lose functionality of one of your inventory slots.
You can't have your cake and eat it too. | |
Nevermind that we now have a Hazium Amulet which does exactly what I suggested.
