The only major difference with sniper rifles is you now have to time your shots like you would with the pistol or DMR. It's how precision weapons were always intended to work.
Before the update the recoil was so low your accuracy would always be back up to 100% in time for the next autofire shot. Just add a second or two between your shots and you'll effectively have 5 headshots instead of 4 now, it just takes slightly longer to shoot.
Sniper seemed fine to me before the change...can't you make it stronger due to the delay?
I mean, smart players are using the DMR's headshot capability and higher ammo capacity to completely snuff out Sniper Rifles altogether. May as well make it the "power vs speed" thing. | |
Well, the first shot with the sniper is virtually the same before the update as it is now. If you shoot someone who's already half dead you're still going to kill them with a headshot using your first shot. If you wait that extra 1-2 seconds between each shot you'll be shooting at full capacity.
What I could do is increase their rate of fire slightly so there's no actual change in sniper mechanics for those who choose to match the old shooting speed. They'll just now have the chance to trade power for speed. How's that sound? | |

Just a head's up to hosts, my Membership bandwidth just ran out and I had to move all the game files to the new website. Because the 1.4 beta points to my Member's file storage for the rsc files, players will now be downloading them upon connection to the game server.

What happened to the KD?

I keep hearing people talk about how their KD ratio is about to be ruined if they're playing poorly. That or people will intentionally sit back and play pretty cheaply, sucking some of the fun out for other people. Stuff like that is a symptom of leaderboards.
What I'm going to do is phase out KD on the hub and replace it with an in-game KD score for their current session. It's more in line with the "jump in and play" attitude of the game and I think people would play more if they weren't so worried about messing up their stats. | |
Super, We should add a scorebar- Which shows the name- that lets us see who's winning in a match if you just log in.
Just a suggestion. ALso.........Let's see.... I know many people have said this, Their should be more maps, The sniper rifle is garbage now- it does little damage-and it hardly hurts the enemy. The marksman does way more damage and it has faster reload and shot dispersal. Add some new weapons-Knifes,and such. I love this game to death-I play as much as I can, WHen I can. GOod Job. | |
There's a forum for questions and suggestions, but I'll go ahead and reply to you here.
Right now there's already a scorebar on the bottom right of the screen. Your score will have a bold outline while the enemy has a regular outline. They switch position depending on who's in the lead. In Free For All games the bar color will be based on gear color. It will always show your score and the score of whoever is in first place, or if you're in first it will show who's in second. In version 1.4 I added a score counter to the title screen. It shows the game type and score of both teams. In Free For All it will show the score of whoever is in first place. I'm already working on new maps and weapons. Please understand Decadence is an original game with a unique art style, I can't just go rip some free resources out of an art pack. I pay for everything out of my own pocket and because the game has gotten so few subscribers it's tough to add things without going into the red. If you want to see new content added faster, please buy a subscription! As for the sniper rifle, I used it plenty after updating and it works just fine. I was killing so many people a few accused me of cheating. If I can do it, anyone can. | |
Snipers suck now....I got the most sniper kills in the whole game and I have yet to get a headshot with the new sniper nerf.
