hey i haven't used byond in years! Glad to see its still around!
Anyways on to the subject...i was just browsing through games on my phone when i realized byond would be perfect for the mobile platform.
Not so much the creating aspect, but the playing of user created content. It would reach a gigantic new audience. Potentially doubling or tripling the current user base. There are some hurdles with this idea.....but nothing that cant be overcome.
Sorry if this has been mentioned before but thought it was a great idea. i didn't include iphone because of the stipulations and money issues to get anything on the apple store.

Can Android run Flash? If so this might be possible relatively soon when the Flash client comes out.
|
I think Google's trying to get away from Flash in favor of HTML5. Android's Chrome browser doesn't support it at all.
|
Kindle Fire (since I have one) can utilize Flash, though you have to enable it yourself in later versions of the firmware (since they made it disabled by default).
|
IIRC starting with 4.1 (Jelly Bean), none of the Android browsers will support flash because Adobe no longer supports it.
|
The mobile market I'm sure would be great news for BYOND.
I've recently starting developing in BYOND because of the upcoming Flash client and while that won't grant immediate access to the mobile gaming community, it will allow the smoother transition to a HTML5 based client at a later date. |
I wouldn't concider byond on android. it would die out relatively quick, since the new windows phone 8 will be around soon.
But byond on smartphones would be awesome :) |
Wow... Huptut. I haven't seen you in 10 years or so. Check your alerts for my message.
