However, even knowing that this wasn't the best thing to show my entire class of a University-level Fine Arts 331 class (regarding art and technology) that I did anyway gives you an idea of just how backed in the corner I was at the end of the semester.

What I was trying to go for was the idea that the kinds of artistic sentiments expressed in a purely digital realm are capable are really quite incredible. This was one of several clips that included the lines of Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines and several Final Fantasy games.

Unfortunately, putting everything off until the last minute had become the default mode of operation for me, but it resulted in too little time to really refine the point I was trying to make. Way too much giant poo monster and way too little framing resulted in a fairly lousy presentation to deliver.

I just plain ran out of time. I had a very restless night knowing that what I was going to show in class the next day was, much like the giant poo monster above, complete crap. Between the 10 hours it took me to edit together a product and the restless night, I had a very nasty ball of stress immediately at the end of the semester.

What's done is done, and now I'm just chilling out. The weekend was spent largely in a new beta test. I expect to do a little more gaming too. I've got three weeks off. I expect the relatively meaningless existence of sitting around all week doing nothing will catch up to me soon enough and I'll resume work on my game.
What an insane video! I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it.

But I didn't really understand from your post, what does it have to do with you (meaning how the heck are you gonna use a crappy opera singer in your whatever-it-is-you're-doing)?
It doesn't have much to do with me other than:

1) It's part of the reason I've been so stressed over towards the end of the semester and needed the weekend off. I used it as part of a presentation I gave at class and regretted how sloppily the whole thing came together.

2) It could be taken as a reflection of just how radical my definition of art in games can get.

It actually came from Rare's Conker franchise. It was in the original Conker's Bad Fur Day, this particular video being a remake in Conker: Live and Reloaded. Both rather terrible platformers that nonetheless turned out fairly awesome due to the off-the-wall humor throughout.
Hah, you're the last person I would expect to post that video. I love the song, I've got a .mid of it somewhere.

Procrastination is a terrible habit, one that I've never been able to shake. Usually I manage to pull a diamond out of my [bum] the morning an assignment is due, but lately I've been having to cut corners as well. But as you said, what's done is done. Hopefully a lesson learned (probably not :P)

Enjoy your break, but don't let the time wash past you. I go back on the 4th and I somehow managed to do nothing constructive :(

I did kill a lot of zombies, though <.<

I wholeheartedly question your definition of "sloppy". No presentation involving THAT could be called anything short of "breathtaking" (in more ways than one).

In other news, in high school I learned through trial and many Ds and Fs, to postpone studying only a few days after the deadline, at which point I would use my high charisma modifier reroll my test score. I also learned that I needn't postpone homework if I don't submit it in the first place. I attribute to this, and, I hope, to my wonderful faculty of solving crossword puzzles (which helped quite a bit in multiple choice questions), the reason my grade average became a C, later a B (assuming American grading, although we got graded in numbers here).

But I bet no high school teacher of mine has ever slain a great wyrm black dragon, right?

(Needless to say it doesn't work as well in uni. :( )
