I watched the forth series my brother bought the other day, and to be completely honest, I'm not entirely sure what to think of it. He was convinced I wouldn't like it, so naturally I went in with the expectation not to enjoy it, but I don't really know.
The series was The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk based 60 after the 1984 arcade game The Tower of Druaga. I don't particularly hate the series, but I don't particularly love it either. It's good for a laugh here and there (you'd be surprised how entertaining magical traps which change the gender of each party member to the opposite sex can be or how much of a laugh can come from a character complaining about being turned into a furry), but it also has it's serious and romantic moments to balance it out. It's not a pure comedy, comedy just plays a nice role in the entire thing.
However, the ending of the series is a bummer, so I'm definitely looking out for it's sequel The Tower of Druaga: the Sword of Uruk just to find out what actually happens. So the series is good enough that I want to keep watching it, not good enough for me to re-watch it in the near future (I like to re-watch series I enjoy every now and again).
The series kind of reminds me of something like .hack//Roots. It seems like you're watching someone play a video game from the characters point of view, but you're not.
I also went out of my way to re-watch a series I got for my birthday 4 - 6 years ago called Serial Experiments Lain. It screwed with my mind then and screws with my mind now. But it's still fun to watch.
(Couldn't be bothered looking for the trailer, so you get the opening sequence.)
And because everyone apparently loves Conan:
(I'd watch it.)

I seriously couldn't sit through more than 5 episodes of Lain. I'd really like to finish it someday but it's just so dry.

I watched all thirteen of them in a night. I took a break around episode eight to surf the net and whatnot.

MANGAAAAAAA!!!!!! lol that video was funny. I haven't watched anything from The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk yet, but I have seen a few episodes of Lain. I don't think I can finish watching it either but I probably will someday.

Tib, have you seen any of the Higurashi series? The name rings a bell, but because I can't place it, I'm going to have to say no. |
