Well, I have seen a lot of people complaining about this problem..
A typical example : Here A lot of issues by 454+ Another And Another |
1) Follow the steps here: http://www.byond.com/members/ BYONDHelp?command=view_post&post=29715
2) If BYOND still crashes, see if you can find a version that works so we can isolate the issue. First uinstall any versions of BYOND you have on your computer. Then download and install an older version. The last version before the major upgrade was 454, available here: http://www.byond.com/download/build/454.1036_byond.exe |
I wonder if updating BYOND could have confused your firewall. The problem you're having could be a connection issue. Some firewalls are overly sensitive to program updates, so you have to tell your firewall(s) to ignore changes to byond.exe, dreamseeker.exe, and dreamdaemon.exe, and let them run without checking for a signature. If you're not sure about how to check on that or change it, I suggest visiting the help forums for more information.
If the firewall issue can be completely ruled out, then it will definitely help to know which older versions work, as Tom mentioned. |
