Yup, as of May 28th, 2005, I am a married man...

My wife is a girl I met in our Freshman year of High School, and she has been my girlfriend ever since... It would have been 9 years at the end of this month...

But, now we're no longer boyfriend and girlfriend, but husband and wife... Of course, it feels like we were already married, so this event simply added some rings, new titles, a fancy official document, and changed little else between us...lol

But regardless, I'm very happy we did it (and I'm glad it's finally over and life can settle back down...lol)

And for the curious, here are some pics (there's a billion more where these came from, but I'm too lazy to put any more up):

The wedding party...

A closer shot of us, and one of my wife and our niece before the ceremony...
That's cute :)

And to follow up on what you said people would say when you put them up...

What is she doing with him?? hehe, hope you guys have many more good years together. Sounds like a good relationship.
Congratulations, SSGX. May you have a long and rewarding life together.
Congratulations! =)
Gratz! nice pictures, happy for ya.
Thanks, everyone!

"What is she doing with him??"

Must be the money... Oh wait...

I suppose I'm either extremely charming, or extremely lucky...lol Perhaps some combination of both...

I'd say we get along very well, in spite of the fact that we're nearly polar opposites...lol As my Best Man put it in his speech, we're so different from each other, but it's hard to imagine us apart (we all went to school together, so he's known us longer than we've even been a couple) because our differences compliment each other so well (her strengths and personality traits make up for my flaws and shortcomings, and vice versa)...

Of course, our differences also make for a lot of disagreements, and we get into arguments pretty regularly... Fortunately, though, no permanent damage is ever caused...lol

Well, enough of my rambling about my personal life for now...

Thanks again!
Congrats once again SSGX. My wife and I were married on the 9th anniversery of our first date, so I know a bit about those 'long engagements'. It didn't change much, but it was definitely nice to have it done.
They do say opposites attract, I guess this proves it. =)
I have two blessings for you from my ancestors.
Gaelic:
"Go raibh Dia libh agus go mbeannaí Sé sibh
Go bhfeice sibh clann bhur gclainne.
Go raibh sibh daibhir de mhí-ádh
agus saibhir de bheannachtaí.
Ná raibh ach sonas ort
Ón lá seo amach "

English:
"May God be with you and bless you.
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortunes
and rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness
from this day forward."

Gaelic:
"Go n-éirí an bóthar leat. Go raibh an chóir ghaoithe i gcónaí leat. Go dtaitní an ghrian go bog bláth ar do chlár éadain, go gcuire an bháisteach go bog mín ar do ghoirt. Agus go gcasfar le chéile sinn
arís, go gcoinní Dia i mbosa a láimhe thú. "

English
"May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

I'm trying to get back to my ancestry, which should explain the post. =D Anyway, the translations aren't perfect. You could probably find a better translation from someone who knows more Gaelic. I know very little, those were just common enough for me to know them.
Congratulations, SSGX! While I don't have any long and windy blessings in ancient languages, I can give one of my own:

Muahah ph34r m3 p4nts!

Wait, that's not it. I know I have one for the occasion. Hrm, bite m-no. Will wonders never ce-nah, Give me liberty, or give me- wait, what was the occasion again? Oh, right, hell freezing over. Oh, here's one!

May you reach the end of Snake Way an hour before Chi-Chi knows your dead.

:D Seriously, though, I'm glad you have such a nice life. It makes this whole crazy world seem to stop and make sense for a minute. I hope the sense-making stuff continues in your life, as you'll find none of it in this post. ^.^

First, thanks to those who haven't been thanked yet!

Flick: Exactly... It is very nice to have it done (and over with...lol)

Jamesburrow: Awesome quotes... Now I need to find out how to pronounce them in their original tongue...lol

Xooxer: I shall carry your kind words with me forever; fearing your pants until my death...

Since you brought up a DBZ reference, I just wanted to make it known that she's already said that I won't be naming our first born "Gohan"...lol (note that we are not expecting any time soon, in case the mention of baby naming raises suspicions...)

Sometimes I feel a little guilty about how nicely my life seems to work for me... It's not all roses, but there have been relatively few thorns (heh, might as well carry on the metaphor), and I haven't really done anything to deserve what I've got... It always just seems to fall into my lap...lol

Heck, my wife and I initially got together through an old friend of mine (like since we were 4 or 5) who, unbeknownst to me, happened to live next door to her... We hadn't gotten together much lately (as of that time, nearly a decade ago), and he called me up out of the blue to come hang out, and there she was (I already knew her through a few classes we had togther in school that year, but I never really got the chance to talk to her)...

But yeah, I've been very fortunate in life, for whatever reason... I'm not a believer in fate, or in luck, but it's hard sometimes to discount them...lol
congrats good luck hope you guys have a happy marriage (wow never thought i'd ever had to say that >.>) o well good luck =)
Congratulation's man! You deserve it! And, I hope your lives are granted many joys. By the way, you sure picked up a looker, great job! >=D
Semi-old post, but its only been about 2 days since the last comment, so....

"Jamesburrow: Awesome quotes... Now I need to find out how to pronounce them in their original tongue...lol"
I'd help you if I could, but I can't actualy speak the language of my ancestors, and I can barely read it. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find a pronunctiation guide somewhere if you want.

"Since you brought up a DBZ reference, I just wanted to make it known that she's already said that I won't be naming our first born "Gohan"...lol (note that we are not expecting any time soon, in case the mention of baby naming raises suspicions...)"
Well, actually, it started to raise a suspicion, but I guess yall still have a while to get to baby making ;) Now, she said you won't be naming the first-born, but you can name the second born =) lol.
But, the second born's supposed to be named Goten & look identical to the father. =D
