sorry if this is a duplicate post but i really did not understand the "ability" topic. here is my ideas about what i would like to see in the ability bar.
pressing "a" highlights the ability bar. spacebar displays the slots. when i move the up arrow to the fireball slot, i would like to have an option to use the right arrow to select other magic slots which could be displayed to the right of the fireball slot. I think this feature is needed.
the extra slots could be for a higher magic or a stronger arrow to shoot. if you would like to make this feature, i would suggest making it so that we can easily enable/disable a slot to/from the list.

In the next version I've added the ability for the popup menu to have multiple columns if the player has many abilities to pick from. The left/right keys can be used to move to the next column.
