BYOND's games page could use a bit more refining; something that is inherent and would make new developers accustomed to the layout. The sorting options aren't a lot too, but that's not really a problem - it's not imperative enough to get into detail about it. Instead of having all of the games bulked up in one category, splitting them up into separate categories(complete, work-in-progress, beta, e.t.c) would be commendable. YoYo Games does this perfectly and it's quite straightforward to navigate its games page. As for featured games, I didn't really see a reason to get rid of it; this is where another aspect of categories come into play. Featured games could be based on most recommended or most played, but there are barely any good BYOND games that would make it, anyway. A rating-based system could also be incorporated into games' hubs so that newcomers or existing site users can decide if they want to play the game or not.

Perhaps the games page could show the featured game of the month with a short write up at the top of the page. Something as small as this could also motivate developers.

This would also be a lovely addition!

Would you believe they redesigned the games page a few times in the past several years?

Doesn't it look awesome after all that effort?

The title was a bit misleading, judging from your response. Perhaps I should change it to 'additions to the games page'
I was being sarcastic. You're right, the website doesn't need any more redesigning. If anything, it needs additions.

There are some, however, who would prefer that people take their games' advertisement and portal completely off-site, instead of rely so much on BYOND being the only way to access BYOND games. They would prefer the BYOND site to not encourage use of hubs by giving developers shiny website stuff.

Of course developers are encouraged to advertise their games outside of BYOND, but BYOND's developer staff still have to spice things up themselves. YoYo Games, Unity, FlashPunk, and Stencyl all try to keep their websites simplified and innovative as possible so that they can also advertise games made with their engine.
