been wanting to get a new computer for a while

specifications:
* Intel Core 2 Quad-Core Q8300 Processor (2.5GHz, 4MB cache, 1333MHz FSB)
* Windows 7 Home Premium - English (32 BIT)
* 512MB ATI Radeon 4850 Graphics card
* 4GB DDR3 RAM [4x1024]
* 640 GB HDD Serial ATA (7200 Rpm)

dont ask how much it cost
Shouldn't have cost too much, that's a rather bland machine. Don't get me wrong, it will run every game on the market, but that's cheap to do these days.

Good luck with you powerful machine though. I love my desktop, but I mostly use my netbook now. My desktop is great for games, but not very flexible.

How much did you spend on that rig?
My rig? Hard to say exactly, I build my own, so many of the parts stick with me for years and years.

If I had to guess, I would say:

$70 case
$60 Mobo
$45 4GB RAM
$70 500GB HDD
$120 x2 AMD Processor
$160 NVIDIA 260GT
$20 DVD-RW
=$545

Of course, I have a low latency 19" LCD, G15 keyboard, and MX Revolution mouse and keyboard. Those add a few hundred dollars to it.

Ewww on the 260GT, ewwww. Other then that it's alright for the money.

That's actually a fantastic card. It isn't the same as getting a 9600. The 260GT series is closer to the 9800GT of the series. It can run every game I've tried on all highs including the brand new Batman game. Well outperforms my 7950GT that I replaced, and that was basically the top of the 7 series, with power very close to the 9800 cards.
Eh, I have a GTX 260 core-216. From what I've seen, it performs better than the 9800 GTX+, and out performs the GTS 250.

(The GTS 250 is basically a carboncopy of the 9800 GTX+)
