I finally got some cash to spend, so I'm looking to get a couple games (2/two) next week. I checked up on IGN but their ratings don't mean much. I'd rather get opinions from the average gamer. I will say, I don't like console RPG's anymore.. don't have time for that. I'm looking to buy: Shooters, Action/Adventure, Fighting, or something very entertaining to play. The only thing I have to play now is the MAG beta, and thats not cutting it since the servers are only up when I'm busy or working. I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
Modern Warfare 2

Games that are out. I already reserved a game (MAG, which is how I got the beta), there is no point in reserving again with nothing to play.
Uncharted 2, but you already knew that. Little Big planet. If your really set on shooters, get Killzone2, or Resistance 2.

I just watched a review for Resistance 2, however... the issue I'm having is that Resistance seems to be better than it's sequel. A lot of message boards say that, plus I haven't played the first one yet. I'm more of an online gamer so if I did grab R2, would I be missing anything (aside from the story)? I don't want to buy TOO many shooters because I want to be dedicated to only one. I think MAG is going to be really great once it releases. Would you say Uncharted 2 is a rental? I'd only see that as a single player run through, and trade in.

It has multiplayer.

Uncharted 1 and 2 are definitely not rentals. theyre both great, 2 being even better, with online multiplayer. (deathmatch, and a capture the flag type game, aswell as a few others, and its really fun)

As for resistance, yeah, you can buy the first one too, story wise i liked it better, and it had a few things the 2nd was missing in the campaign, but the controls, and online play in 2 are far better than the first one. The 2nd one has 60 player matches, aswell as 8 player coop modes.

Also, im playing uncharted 2 now. I havnt even beaten it yet, and i gotta say its one of the best games of the year, hands down.

Cool, well I'll add that to my list to purchase. I just did some reading on it, looks like it's similar to Tomb Raider. I appreciate the help. Since I see Resistance & Uncharted are really cheap compared to their sequels, I'll be picking up those two, and have enough for a 3rd game.

Still open to suggestions for the 3rd title!

If you have friends that come over and play, or who also have a ps3 (me!) You could get little big planet, which is a really fun multiplayer game.

It's funny you say that. My friend down the street told me today that it's fun, but it looks childish to me. I suppose if you can tell me what you think about it personally, I'd give it a look.

I personally love it. Its really fun, gives the player alot of customization (creating your sack puppet, aswell as creating your own levels which you can share with anyone), and can be played by 4 players. Its a cool party game IMO.

Im looking forward to modnation racers, which is pretty much mario kart and little big planet combined in a really awesome build your own character/cart/racetrack game. But yeah, LBP is fun, check out some gameplay videos, or rent it if you're still unsure.

Wow, ModNation™ Racers looks pretty cool. It's not a serious racing game, but it does bring back memories of playing Mario Kart as a young teen. Pretty cool. I'll probably rent Little Big Planet and see how that is, but whenever this ModNation™ Racers comes out, I'll pick that up for sure.
Uncharted 2 or Brutal Legend. Uncharted 2 is awesome. I literally ran to gamestop to get it. If you aren't into that stuff I suggest waiting until mid November to get Assasins Creed 2
I really suggest that you wait, unless you get Uncharted 2, which has 24 perfect review scores.
Modern Warfare 2, Assasins Creed 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Ratchet and Clank- A crack in time, and Borderlands all come either this month or mid November,

The first three are nice, mainly Snake Eater. I played and completed all three. I need to try MGS4 still as well. From what I hear, it's a horrible time to start playing the online mode due to a trend of spawn killing. I guess theres a small glitch or so where you can shoot at the spawn areas and that very second before you spawn, if a bullet is present, you will die immediately.

Luckily nobody ever buys MGS4 for the muliplayer.
Ratchet and Clank aren't too bad.
Ratchet and Clank is awesome. Nuff said
