Well, I guess I'm a bit rusty at pixel sprites. My main concern isn't how to get it done, that's easy. My concern is what program to use; what proportions.
So far, I've heard these programs were pretty good:
o GIMP
o MSPaint
o GraphicsGale
o Corel
But that's just what I heard. I want to know what other people of BYOND use and think is the best program to sprite in.
For proportions, simply: Should you start big then decrease size?

lol @ GIMP Yeah. I don't really like it, but I heard it could be used in the SPRITE field. |

Any program with a pencil tool works to be honest. It all depends on your ability rather than all the nicknacks that come with the program.

You missed a completely FREE paint utility: PaintDotNet!
Get it here: http://www.getpaint.net/ Make your 'canvas' 32x32 and start there. I use this proggy and I have to learn PhotoShop CS5 for school (not liking that prospect at all...) LOL It's awesome |
