The Stone Hydra spell is one of roughly 70 unique spells and weapons skills that players will be able to learn. The spell summons a stationary four-headed stone Hydra that intermittently shoots fireballs in four directions for about 8 seconds.

Players familiar with Diablo know that these stone hydras are quite formidable when you begin to summon 3 or 4 of them at a time. Good for clearing out large groups of enemies or laying down cover fire when you need to retreat.
Very interesting idea.. the player icon looks a biiitt odd, though. ;/
Why are the tree's leaves growing behind the branches?

Edit: After SilkWizard's comment, I looked more closely and realised. It doesn't look like leaves at all - it was just the weird lighting of my monitor that tricked me.
The mob icon is a temporary placeholder. Also, in this screenshot the player doesn't have any items except for a basic tunic equipped.

And those are bushes, not leaves on the tree.
Cool :)

I suggest seperating the necks of the hydra's though, maybe use multitile for it?
Whoa, neat. You're letting the projectiles fire down from the cliff.
How about a 'Rock Lobster' spell? I've got that song stuck in my head. x.x
Diablo 1? I haven't played that one all the way through.

I'm thinking that the icons could look a bit ahh... bigger? and more detailed.

Other than that though, in Diablo 2, sorceresses can summon fire hydras that aim their fireballs at nearby enemies. Maybe these stone hydras can do the same?
This game is going to kick @$$.
Will the fireball shooting over the cliff fall down and hit players below, or keep going straight forward and fly over their heads?

It will hit players below. Otherwise it might be a bit confusing, and I'd also have to worry about giving the fireball a shadow etc.
