I've completed approximately 50% of the to-do list in my SS13 remake. How that correlates to time until first release depends on how long each checkmark takes, but I am making progress. Next up: The wiring and the switches. I think I'll borrow Hobnob's code for this, seeing as how it's one of the few good, commented code snippets in all of OpenSS13.

Stop rippingz!

Stop rippingz! It's open source, so it's really not ripping. The side effect of using that code though is that your project should also be open source in turn. People seem to be a bit rubbish at keeping to that, but it's still the case. Bear that in mind. |

Stephen001 wrote: Sounds like a real lesson learned there. You were banned for being obnoxious and bashing people generally, exactly the same reason you were banned from the developer forum. I'd like to think we can at least have a basic level of respect for each other and maybe act a bit better than a bunch of spoiled 10 year olds. Because ultimately that attitude towards people is where ripping stems from, and a good portion of BYOND's other community problems. I'll unban you if you're quite done being an internet badass. Are you? |

Mind telling me what's the difference between your remake of SS13 and OpenSS13?

Mind telling me what's the difference between your remake of SS13 and OpenSS13? I'm taking this SS13 towards a more continuous style of play, with persistent characters that are affected in the long term (hopefully in a meaningful and not annoying way) by events, and that have a history to back up their abilities. So something like RP Engine meets old SS13. Technologically, airflow is incredibly improved, to the point where nobody will stand around wondering why they can breathe one tile away from a broken window leading to space. They will, of course, be too busy tending to damage caused by flying glass and lack of oxygen. Also, I'm adding my particular touch of "Make the environment try to kill you so players don't have to!" to it. I expect that plasma will receive a promotion from "toxic gas that is supposedly more interesting than that" to "actual new particle recently discovered and hazardous/helpful in ways nobody even knows yet." |
