Eh accidently chose No when i meant yes. So ignore that vote. It looks pretty good.
Doesn't look bad, the graphics are nice.
But there is a lot of open, bland space that could be put to better uses.

Also, it looks nothing like Konoha as depicted in the Anime or Manga of Naturo.
A quick search on Google would have shown you what Konoha looks like.

It is actually a very densely packed area, with buildings almost literally on top of other buildings.
The only areas without buildings are literally forest like areas.
Logs? Auto-nay+no.

Otherwise it looks good.
I vote for No, sorry.

it isn't just log train ... this is a map rating only .
The tree in front of the Hokage building doesn't match the rest. Also it is to wide open. Needs beter building placements. You also need to either rip some building correctly or finish them.

We asked If you vote No, Tell us the reason why you voted No...What was wrong with the Map that you just didn't like besides the Open Space since we've already had a few comments about that, if there is nothing else, Just Let us know...

yes the space is required for players . More buildings lead to more lag and more resource download. Its not a lot of space we have decent amount. Also the building that are on top of each other, can walk behind, who ever goes under any building it becomes transparent. ( Its a massive PVP based naruto game, more space is required)

next. when you say log, you might think its only one way to train. there are many other ways.

building and trees you see isnt just how it looks like in the video. might need to check the real game play. The graphic on video is like 50% of its quality.

and the person who said no you need to explain .... like we asked you.. saying no and ending the statement right away makes you look pity

this is proably the reason we get 50+ players . Already said that this game is going to be original.

None of that is true.
Room may be needed for PVP, but I'd say a good 70% or so of that map is nothing but empty space. And from the looks of it, it is at least 200x200 in size, maybe 300x300 or bigger.
200x200 is 40,000 tiles, 70% of that is 28,000. Even with 200 players online, that means you could safely fit 1 player in a 10x10 area and still have 8,000 spare tiles.
That is simply way too much empty room.

Also, more buildings should not be more lag. Unless you are using some horrible system I cannot even think of, it does not matter how many buildings you have, they count towards turf just the same as grass does (empty space). You could fill the entire map with buildings, and it would be no different than filling it with grass.

Like I said, the graphics look nice. But the map design is fairly bland and bad. Too much empty space for an overly large map.
Either fill up the empty space, or make the map smaller.

Also, some variety would be nice.
All the trees look the same, all the buildings look like the same minus different coloured roofs. The grass all looks the same, so does the dirt and water, there is like 2 different plants.
It wouldn't hurt to add a bit more variety to all of these.

the map is 100x100 its not a lot of room to add so much .. i know from game making , more the turfs or larger the turfs more the lag .ive been in here byond for 2006 . you do have a point about the trees and other stuff... by looking at other games you might be asking to much here lol . any ways good point but the map isnt that huge its just 100x100 . if your talking about the empty space outside academy and hospital... cause in NFV ...not roa , we players love to pvp out there.

I know from game making that more turfs does not equal more lag. It does not matter how many turfs you add in the map editor, when BYOND compiles the game it compresses them into a single turf. A 100x100 map will never have anymore, or less than 10,000 turfs.

I have made maps in BYOND with something like 8000 trees, and the trees were large multi-tiled trees (4x4 tiles in size), which is about 128,000 turfs.
It was no more, or less laggy than using a same sized map full of a single type of turf (grass for example).

I am currently working on a purely PVP game, it has a map with fairly small areas of play (the largest area is about 8x8 or so in size, every other area is no more than 4-5 tiles wide).
Even though it can at times have 15 people fighting in a group with a good 20+ NPCs joined in, there is never not enough room. If anything, there is too much room (I actually had to edit the map to make less room).

As for a variety of different turfs. How is it asking too much? Because other games don't do it?
Have you ever thought, maybe if you did it and other games did not, your game would be better for it?
It is these small details that can make a good map look great. If you don't want to put in that extra effort, you will never make anything great.

Also, I've been using BYOND since 2002, and been "making games" since 1998.

Dimond turfs would only lag if they had some system coding to them =P.

But really, the empty space is needed. I know from experience. This isn't your old 32x32 attack game, we have pretty huge attacks that lead the needing of more space.

Also, the opinon of making it look like the real Konoha village is well... kinda stupid. This is BYOND, and well, no matter how hard you try, you couldn't make maps look just like the image they are mapping. So the next best thing is to create some good unique turfs that link to the village and let you know, "Hey there is the Hokage Building, I must be in Konoha."

I think it's great, everyone on BYOND wants anything they can get perfect, well I'm just happy to see something different. =)

My PVP game has massive attacks, 32x32? Maybe 12x12, tiles (or 284x284 pixels).
Like I said, it had areas a lot smaller than in that map, and I had to make it smaller because it was simply too big and open.

Why make a Naruto game and ignore the most basic of things?
If you ask me, the real Konoha has a better design than this version, and any version on BYOND, by far.

Also, after looking more. I'd say the general composition of the map is terrible.
It is a few, sparce and randomly placed buildings, with no real flow or logical design.
You have random, prefectly square patches of grass dotted all over the place, which server no purpose on the map, and are just totally illogical. Same for the water, it is much to square, and there are random lakes and ponds all over the place.
Also, I am assuming the dirt is suppose to be pathways. There are pathways that lead to other pathways, that lead to dead ends or circle around onto even more paths. All of them eventually leading nowhere.
I am also pretty sure I saw a large empty field of grass with a single tree placed in it, and around the tree was a fence... Why?

The map has no rhyme or reason. The graphics look decent, but the actual design of the map is very poor at best.

Here is two maps you could learn a thing or two about from...
http://files.byondhome.com/TheMagicMan/devtown.jpg
http://files.byondhome.com/TheMagicMan/des.png

The first one has a similar design concept to the actual Konoha map. Densly populated clusters of buildings with patches of grass land, almost forests inbetween.
It is not immediately noticable, but this map has large open areas, and it disguises them well (there is at least 7 relatively large, open areas in that map).

The second map is an excellent example of how to design clusters of densely packed buildings.
The general layout of it is not that good, but the buildings are almost literally on top of each other, in a similar way to those in the real Konoha village map.

I'm just going to shrten this since we can all see what you said below, but, anyways, we all know that everything form the show, every REAL thing, is always better than it is on BYOND.

This is a fan made game, not some game that tries to reflect Naruto Perfectly. It's basically a PvP game based loosely on Naruto.

WOOW :O The Magic Man posted the best maps I have ever seen on the BYOND.

PS. I give your konoha map 4/10.
