Uhh what.
His opinion, What he said isn't true. That's it and that is all. Opinion is how you feel about something not something that is a downright lie. _> |

The problem with "rippers" trying to make "original" games is fairly simple.
Most of them do not make any kind of valid attempt at it, nor do they show any proof that their attempt is valid. Most of them will say something like "we are making this game not a rip soon", and that is about all. How does one just do that? The only real way is to remake the game from scratch. Most people seemingly make no valid attempt at doing that, and even less actually do remake the game from scratch. Maybe if they made a genuine attempt at making an original game people wouldn't be so harsh on them. But when all they say is "making game not a rip soon" and then post on the forums asking for help on "how do i make my jijitsu verb not broke" without posting code like a "jijitsu verb" is a feature BYOND had... It is kind of hard to believe these people are making a serious attempt at making an original game. |
Most of the time I see posts about making a anime with original code & pixel art. They are still basing it off of something, there for the game it self is not original but the code & pixel art is.
Theres been cases where rippers used stolen sources and say they are making it original. This is ripping still and you can't make something original if its already been original. Many BYOND members now want games with new ideas which is not based something thats already outthere. |
The game is original even if it based off Naruto. The Main concept is naruto and then they add more concepts that enhances the gameplay.
So essentially it is original. |

It's not the ripped source which makes a game unoriginal, it's the copyrighted content which does.

90% of byond Naruto are rips or edited rips so stfu about it !
Your Game Edited Rip Of Naruto WAy Of Shinobi. i cant tell some scatch made games . |
The process of learning how to program is not Ripper -> MAGIC! -> Guru. IF you want to know what you're doing, you need to start at square one. Ripping is its own, incestuous little world, and you won't be making (rather than poorly modifying) anything until you give it up entirely.
If you want to be a "Decent" BYONDer, delete your rips and start with the tutorials. It's where all the awesome people started off. |

As much as this is true, I actually started off around 11 programming... sorry ripping. And back then I was so ignorant I didn't know the existance of the copy and paste code, so I literally typed everything, and pretty much memorized it. So actually, ripping can help you, but really the DM guide is more helpful. |
Ripping will help you learn all sorts of bad habits and give you terrible examples of how to structure code. Trying to wean someone off of ripped sources can prove to be more challenging than starting fresh with someone who's never looked at a source code.
The same can be said for those who start with BASIC. "It is practically impossible to teach good programming to students that have had a prior exposure to BASIC: as potential programmers they are mentally mutilated beyond hope of regeneration." Your best bet is to avoid ripped source codes and stick to beginner articles, as well as the DM guide. |

It just shows how horrid this community is. It shows that once you own/are in involved in a rip, you can never be known as anything other than a ripper. |

I'm not deleting my rip, lots of my friends play and enjoy it, it's what games are here for, for people to enjoy and play. |
