it's not a problem with guilds (the good games are already easy to find), and it's not a problem with developers- sure, game development is slow due to "what's the point"-itis, but there have been a few good games that have come out recently. you know what happened? NOTHING. nobody cares. and that's how "what's the point"-itis develops.

BYOND's community is an illusion. if you took away all the 8 year olds who refuse to play anything other than a naruto/dbz rip, the community's size would be the exact same as it was shortly after BYOND came into existence- maybe 10 actual people actively on BYOND at any one time, if you're lucky.

how to fix the problem? introduce more real, non-retarded community members. how to do that?

well hell, if the answer to that was so easy, this problem wouldn't exist in the first place, now would it?

Simple. Get rid of the Anime community.

It's like having a festering corpse rotting in the middle of your living room and wondering why guests never want to come over.
lol, you were gone and nobody noticed.

Actually :[ People did.
I wouldn't mind, but they were going to my forums and posting, emailing me, or contacting me on MSN about useless stuff.

But to be fair. I'd rather people on BYOND didn't notice if and when I was gone.
The only real active people are a bunch of kids, and they'd notice I was gone because my naruto rip wasn't hosted for a day or two.

I think I'd rather not be noticed!

I have a simple question. If you don't want to be bothered by people within this community, why complain about it? It seems that you have a nice smaller community elsewhere. Why not promote your game on your site and encourage your members to spread the word?

I never said I didn't want to be bothered by people here.
I said they were bothering me with USELESS STUFF. They were spamming some forums I own, posting off topic stuff anywhere they thought it would get my attention, bugging me on MSN about stupid stuff and so on.

I don't mind people trying to contact me, but if you are, at least have a decent reason for doing it!

Tom's philosophy about BYOND prevents that unfortunately :P

it's a noble one but it's failed us all :(
