Alright, so after a while of thinking up rules, I have decided to release the "rules" for my completly pointless competition.
Rules:
All Entries, MUST be an RPG, of the Fantasy style.
All Coding, within the game must be 100% Original
Icons, do not matter for all I care they can be stickmen.
The game size has no limits, BUT cannot be an already published game.
The game should support a multi-player format, to keep everything fun.
The game MUST have, 5 Weapons, 5 Pieces of Armor, And 5 Shields.
The game MUST have a semi-decent storyline, which is playable within the project.
Their must be at least 2 dungeons, and the game MUST somehow incorparate the elements of: Light,Dark,Fire,Water,Wind,and Earth.
The game, must have at least 4 different unique classes, that you can play as.
The entries are due on September 1st 2005, and will be judged by me, on the follow:
Gameplay: 25%
Originality/Uniquness Factor: 10%
Icons: 5%(not very strict)
Coding: 20%(the efficieny)
Map Usage: 10%(proper useage of map)
Battle System: 20%
Other: 10%
Please enjoy this challenge, the prizes have not yet been decided, but ummm, ideas and donations for a prize are aprecicated.
Post, all comments in the comments area, also I am looking for qualified judges. Any Massivly Multiplayer games will be hosted, if possible to test how well the BYOND cummunity reacts.

Suggestion: Spellcheck. It will probably cause people to take your competition more seriously if they know you at least took the time to make sure you had no major spelling errors.
Also, why the arbitrary criteria like 5 weapons/armor, incorporating those elements, etc? Also, if you are judging code effeciency, you need to set a src size limit. Otherwise, you might want to look at judging code readibility and documentation. Why not add a criteria for sound and music, too? And WTF is "proper map usage"? What if they use dynamically generated maps? Or no maps at all? |
