Hi I was having trouble on a game recently where a racial slur was used. Using racial slurs in a game is against one of it's rule, which it barely has any and most of them are customly made by the Game Moderators on the spot. I asked for punishment to be administered because whether or not it was directed towards me it was offensive and I wanted to know if they could not use the word. Now this ensued in an arguement where one of the game moderators, who takes everything personally, decided to go about telling me how using this term was not offensive to everyone and that it is widely used. The term being "nigga" I take offense to that, and usually have conflicts with those who say it to me in real life. So I discussed this with the few Moderators who were on and instead of helping me resolve it, end in telling me to just stop talking about it and not fix it so that a problem like this doesn't happen again. So I refused to stop because it's nothing to joke about, and they booted me from the game. I returned to tell them about how no where in their rules does it say this, and they are even taking away my freedom of speech as an american citizen by the fact that I was silenced for upholding the rules. I'm not sure how I would go about resolving the issue because I do enjoy the game, but the administrators are porely chosen.

P.S. The owner doesn't care about what happens in the game so there is no higher power in the game that I can go to and try and resolve the problem.
BTW The game is Bleach Odyssey Roleplay

Greetings Tonkils!

Unfortunately there's not a whole lot we can do as the BYOND Staff does not moderate individual games. Aside from you speaking to that game's administration, there's nothing we can do. Sorry.
Yup. Individual games are entirely outside of our power. If he'd said it on the forums, obviously that would be unacceptable.

As it stands: Game developer's game, his moderators, his rules.
All we can really offer is "If you don't like a game, don't play it."

One thing to bear in mind is that a lot of games aren't hosted in America, and that freedom of speech stops being a right as soon as you entire a private area even in America;
Someone's game, someone's private residence, someone's company and so on. You can be fired for cussing out your boss, the same as you can be banned for spamming our forums.
There are rules of conduct that outweigh freedom of speech, especially on the internet ( for example, we don't let people swear at each other, even though 'Freedom of Speech' says we should. )

Alright thank you.
