Today (the third day), I managed to reduce my entry to exactly 4000 bytes. Then, after uploading it on this computer here (because of Internet access) for testing, I learned that I didn't have to count the dme file, so I suddenly have almost half a kb left. It is... a Survival Horror Roguelike Mastermind game. With an underwater theme. And cooperative gameplay, if on multiplayer.

I want to thank Crashed and especially YMIHere for helping me testing out the multiplayer version of the game and discovering heaps of mistakes and bugs, which should be all gone now, considering that YMIHere and me played a dozen or so rounds over a timeframe of an hour or two. :-P

It is more or less playable and finished, but with the freed up space, I will add a few small bonuses, maybe some eyecandy, a score, and some other tiny tinkerings for the difficulty level of multiplayer mode, but it will remain bloody difficult, no matter if on solo or not. I think I might even have my own mini-competition to see how long it'll take until somebody actually -wins- a game. In that aspect, it is truly roguelike - death is almost always the result, but with training and some tricks, you actually have a small chance.

This makes "Escape From Nautilus Station" my third -completed- game on BYOND. As for my next project: it will be a second 4K project, and not underwater themed at all. In fact, it will be a board game. And that is all I am going to say about that - at least until I am further along on that. :-)

Congratulations on finishing, splatty! =)
Congratulations! Now you have over a month to refine it further.
Cool sounding game!

I love contests, they always spawn so many good games :)

I'm still not your friend :'(
Nice going!

By the way, you have 4096 bytes. Not 4000. One kilobyte = 1024 bytes. =)
Arg. One one night I'm working this week Splatty tests his roguelike. ANdyways I want to see!

Good Job fitting it in to that size.

But ... "And: Next Entry" are you doing another one?
Thanks for the comments.

Crispy: I know - I still have enough space to add lots of fun stuff to it. ;-)

Kunark: Look again. :-P

Unowuero: Well, it isn't a roguelike, its a survival horror roguelike-like mastermind game, to be exact. :-P

Oh, and yes, I am working on my next entry. *nods* A board game, actually - something totally different.
