Could happen. But as I said, if everything went to plan, as it should've, there didn't need to be any changes and he would've won. There were hundreds of different things he could've done but he chose that one which would've let him succeed had Mikami not do anything he wasn't instructed to.
BTW, I'm looking forward to the american-adaption of the Death Note movie. They say that they'll be following the manga pretty much, word to word.
I'm here for the Mudkipz.....THE TITLE OF THIS GUILD LIES. I WANT MY MUDKIPZ. THERE ARE -NOT- ENOUGH MUDKIPZ ON THIS PAGE.

I thought Death Note was well done, although I don't read mangas so I never know how true they are when reformed into an Anime.
The only problem I had with Death Note was that somewhere round the middle, there was a bit that was quite clearly on someones holiday. The story became unbearable for a few episodes and even the artists were being shoddy and not even colouring in bits the right colour (kind of a MS Paint job really). It can be questionable at several stages just how "realistic" or "smart" one side or the other could have been, arguably the series could have ended quite quickly if Light was allowed to be too good. You just have to enjoy it as it is, including the ending. |
Series was amazing, but if i was Kira, i would've planned, and I can't tell if this is what you said, but i would've wrote all the officers names in the death note, making them kill near, then themselves.

Death Note was horrible.
Easy enough to figure out what was going to happen later down the road. The first five episodes is all it took for me to figure out that shit. |

Actually, Light tricked Near into choosing the 28 (or something along those lines, he knew it would be chosen judging by some rule or something), and he also knew it would take place at one (I don't know how he even got that, but he said something along the lines of "1:00, exactly as I predicted"). Either way, the fight could have been written down like this:
"Matsuda cracks and shoots Near and one of Near's bodyguards. The bodyguards, Mogi, and Aizawa fire at Matsuda, but some miss and they're all shot, except Light"
Of course, he also knew the names of the bodyguards, so he could have written in an extremely complex scenario in which he "miraculously" survives.
