Why do hot dogs come in packages of 8, and hot dog buns come in packages of 6?

Buns come in a package of 8 actually.
Buns are normally connected when you have them in package, so if there were 6 that would mean the bag would be relatively big for 3 rows. Instead it just has 2 rows with 4 buns in each. | |
