Some sort of separation in demos and libraries would be nice, either through a search or by separating them in the forums, since we can't tell the difference between the two unless we actually navigate to the hub entry and go to the "related" page (as mentioned here). I recommend adding a new search-able variable called 'mode', perhaps, where it can be 'demo' or library'.

Right, the forums don't support tags for some legacy reasons. Basically, in the previous site upgrade we had setup an "aggregator" system that could catalog all sorts of entries together, and it supported tags, which were admin-created and not the same as post keywords. However in the newer update we went more toward simplicity where the post object is elevated in importance. The aggregator is still used for listing hub entries, but their tags are not carried over into a system that is shared with posts, so searching posts (which is what the forum does) doesn't allow tags to be used.
At present actually, the forum search also isn't capable of separating demos from libraries. This is something I could probably alter though. For now, the easier option is to search from the developer page which still uses tags, and is quite capable of making the distinction--if your search includes the term "demo" or "library" on the developer page, you'll get only that type of result. |
Maybe we could have demo and library be automatic tags? I think that would fit nicely into the existing forms.Nevermind, the forums don't seem to support tags?Okay, so the main listings use the term "tag", while the forums use the term "keyword". Not sure if there's a way to reconcile the two, so maybe a third term is needed.
