"Micheal Jackson may not have been overrated musically, but certainly was personally. The fact that the media coverage portrays him as some sort of hero DESPITE the guy's extremely questionable lifestyle and outlook makes him very overrated at the current moment."

Well, many people would call him a hero for what he has done. As I stated, he gave a lot to charities, was an inspiration to many other artists, the first African-American on MTV and more.

His "extremely questionable lifestyle" I guess you mean the crimes he was accused of. You could argue that they are true or not, but I personally would say they're not true.

If none of those, you think his outlook was? He was a bit bizarre, or childish as you can see his kid's name is "Blanket". So it's not being "Over-Rated", it's just how he is.

That's why I'm confused, if that's what you mean, than I'm pretty sure you are wrong.

The thing is, you can't call him a hero for what he has done. You can call him a success story, you can call him an inspiration, but you can not call somebody a hero simply because their musical career broke ground, or because he gave a small portion of his obviously huge earnings to charity. Giving money to charities does not make you a hero. It makes you a philantrhopist. There is a difference, look it up.

I suppose O.J. didn't kill his wife either. Just because someone is acquitted does not mean they never committed the crime. A little research reveals that Micheal Jackson settled out of court with one of the families that sued him to the tune of around $22 million dollars. Now why you believe that somebody who paid up such a huge amount to the accusing family did absolutely nothing wrong?
The argument on this subject is not worth my time.

There are lots of reasons why he might settle out of court. I'd imagine he would be worried a court case would shut his charity down. Plus I think that if you called him a knuckle-head long enough he'd eventually give you a lot of money just to stop.
Also, if you're going to question why he settled out of court then you've also got to question why the families settled out of court.

I'm not saying he did or didn't do anything, I don't have any way of knowing, just that its incredibly suspicious that all these people seem more interested in settling out of court than actually taking down the man who molested their children. They don't seem to even care that he continued to work with children.
I can understand why both sides would settle for taking/giving money to just end it, but I never understood how the families could leave it at just the money (even a massive pile of money).

Thatīs the way i see it.
you've got to keep in mind that it's not as if everyone out there is a moralfag. it may be nice to assume that of someone, but i reckon a very good portion of our society in particular would most certainly care less about pursuing their child's molestor if they got a big bag of money handed to them.

i mean if you're going to assume that people are malicious enough to make up lies about their kid being molested just to get an out-of-court settlement, you've also got to account for the possibility of the former
Starbucks isn't really food, but whatever. I agree all the way to the 4th being overrated. If you're from the US, it's a big deal. For an overrated holiday, I'd look no farther than Thanksgiving. That or Halloween.

And I wouldn't call twilight overrated, but that's because I don't see how it can even be given any credit. What a load of horse shit that whole series is.
