The deadline for the Cartridge Classic '05 has (finally) passed, and here are the entries:
Fallout and Airsoft by ATPDevelopment
Breakthrough by Ben G
Traffic Jam by Crispy
GelloJumper by DarkCampainger
8kSubmission by FinalFantasyFreak; I'm sure it has a real name somewhere.
Knight and Pong by Hiead
Combat Proliferation and Rogue Stickz by Polaris8920
SkyWurm8k by SuperSaiyanGokuX
NausesNed by ThugHead
Judging has not yet begun, so be patient. Overall I'm very pleased that the contest got 12 entries. Five of those will be prizewinners. Keep watching for the judges' decisions and the final reviews when they become available.
[edit]
Airsoft was a last-minute addition, having appeared on the hub just before midnight BST but accidentally didn't get submitted to the channel before the deadline.

Hey, there will actually be less prizewinners than non-prizewinners! Awesome.
Sadly, that's pretty unusual for a BYOND programming contest. =P |
Well technically, if nobody wins twice, there will be more prizewinners than non-prizewinners, considering people like me had 2 entries contributing to that 11 total. =P
|
Eh, I submitted (well, ATP Development submitted) "Airsoft" on the hub before the deadline passed, I just forgot to submit it to the channel, so I submitted it 3 minutes late. Any chance that'll still count? :\
|
Awesome! Glad to see the extensions weren't a complete waste...lol
Good luck, everyone! |
Yes, this is very good.
On a side note, I thought that 5 honourable mentions got a subscription to Regex, or are we just not counting that as prizes. [Edit] And I quote Lummox on his original blog post, "with $50 going to 1st place, $40 to 2nd place, $30 3rd, $20 4th, and $10 5th. I'll also be including a year's subscription to my Regex library for all the top 5 and up to 5 honorable mentions." |
I've allowed Airsoft as a last-minute addition, seeing as the process of submitting it was already underway.
|
Oh, and mind you Polaris, there may not be 5 honorable mentions. Often it's common to have maybe 1 or 2, although it's not unusual to see more. We'll see which places the judges rate highly. If the competition for 5th place is fierce, there will be more prizes; if not, fewer.
|
The call for judges has gone out. Judging will be on four criteria: gameplay, presentation, user-friendliness, and overall impression. These will be scaled per judge, per game. I believe I'll be averaging results via root mean square. More to come.
|
My submission is three submission's in one to save room. Thus for the reason of not having a specified name.
|
FFF, can you resubmit the entries separately, then? We need a hub entry for each so we can properly judge them.
|
I agree. =D I sure wouldn't mind an, er, honorable mention(probably more likely than a top-place with one of those games).
|
w00t! My key made it into Lummox's blog post. This comes not to long after it appeared Gughunter's blog post(about the informing of the moved secure.byond.com address), and XzDog's(where he said I was 'fine' =P)
Edit: The only sad part is that my entries don't stand much chance against the other loud, modern style of games. My humble, quiet little games aren't much next to those.
Hiead seems to be spreading like a very small plague!
